I toured with Ed for four days with a small group of friends. I would consider our group quite knowledgeable and we also have some military experience. Ed quickly assessed our level and what he thought would appeal to us. He developed an itinery that worked superbly for us. He was able to do this because of his extensive knowledge of the region, the Normandy campaign, and military history. On a number of occasions Ed went beyond what was expected of him to deliver an exceptional tour. Ed obviously has a passion for what he does. His energy is contagious. I would recommend Ed to anyone looking no matter what your knowledge level is

I found Ed Robinson on Trip Advisor and he and his tour surpassed everything that had been written about him. Ed brought the area alive, we felt like we were right back there in June of 1944. He is knowledgeable, passionate, energetic and funny. He was very responsive when I was setting up the tour, gave great recommendations and made the process very simple.
If you are thinking of going to Normandy and touring the D Day sites, go, it is an amazing experience, but go with Ed Robinson.

Ed Robinson brought D-Day and the Battle of Normandy to life. He is remarkably knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and was able to tailor a three day tour perfectly to our three generation group - grandfather, father, and son. He is a complete pro, incredibly well prepared and invests obvious time and energy to get it right and make it memorable. Ed made all the difference in the world. You can see it on your own (and we came with a good bit of collective knowledge about the Battle of Normandy), but Ed adds a dimension to the trip that would be impossible to replicate on your own. Oh - and he is a good guy, too. Chuck Rosenberg

We loved spending an entire afternoon with Edward! He is extremely knowledgeable, entertaining and interpersonal....perfect for a tour with two teenagers. We couldn't imagine touring the D-Day sites (and other interesting places that he took us like a cider/calvados tasting) without him. We have booked several private tour guides when travelling to Europe and Edward was the best. We would highly recommend him!

Ed provided us with an energetic and knowledgeable tour, very well researched to cover our specific interests. My husband's father landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day. We provided information to Ed in advance about his division and regiment and specific incidents that my father-in-law experienced. Ed researched the exact location of the landing and took us along the path that my father in law took as his division made its way to St. Lo. We knew that my father-in-law had defused a bomb under a bridge somewhere, and Ed knew of a bridge that had been saved along this route. He showed us the bridge and described the situation that had resulted in the bomb being placed there. Seeing this bridge and knowing it was very likely to be the one that my father -in-law saved made that story no longer just a war story - it was a real event that we felt connected to. We also knew that my father-in-law was shot near a particular little town, so Ed researched the movements in that area and showed us the road where that very likely took place. Throughout the tour, he provided maps and put all the events in the larger context of what was happening. The net effect was that it kept all of us (including 3 teenagers) engaged, and it connected all of us to the history in a way that would not have been possible with a standard tour. For 6 hours of education and entertainment for 5 people, that connected 2 generations with a third around a pivotal event in world history, the 200 euros was very well spent.
