“A charming 3 star in the heart of Camembert country”

A great location for spending a full day tour of Normandy D-Day beaches and museums is the small town of Bayeux. You can also see the Bayeux Tapestry and the breathtaking Notre Dame
Cathedral.

The owners and front desk people are both helpful and professional.
The problems are the limitations of an older but charming hotel. There is no a/c and no elevator
if you are staying in the outer buildings. It is a great place for tour pickups. We did not dine at the
hotel since we thought prices for dinner were on the high side; menus for 38 or 52 euros.
I have no doubt food was good; just pricey.

Room Tip: If you have physical problems- ask for first floor rooms to avoid stair cases. The Jr. suite was roo...

This may have been Eisehower's favorite hotel in 1944 but if he were to come back today he would requisition the Villa Lara. The condition is poor and very dated. The room was tiny. With no elevator (to be fair not uncommon in small European hotels) have fun lugging your bags up three flights of stairs to the top floor. On the positive side, the front desk staff were very nice and I enjoyed looking at all of the historical photos of famous guests in the side lobby. Breakfast was good.

We had a lovely time staying here. Room was well appointed and roomy for the four of us. Staff was friendly and helpful. Staff spoke English perfectly so not speaking French was not an issue. Location is in short walking distance to the tapestry, cathedral, restaurants and shopping. Hotel dining room was updated and lovely. Car parking was limited, but another lot in town was close and easy to use. We had breakfast here at the hotel and it was was very good and convenient. Very quaint, sweet and charming place to stay. Would love to come back to visit.

Spent 2 nights here and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The location is excellent; right in the centre of town and ideal for visiting the famous tapesty, war museums as well as for trips to the nearby Normandy beaches. Staff are friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast is delicious; fresh breads, pastries, hams, cheeses, eggs, fresh fruit salad, juices, yoghurt, cereal etc. The room was ample size, clean and with a good-sized bathroom. Free wi-fi is a bonus! Would highly recommend.

We recently had the pleasure of stopping in this Hotel. It is in an Ideal spot in the town of Bayeux
Only draw back is that it has no lift a bit difficult if you have trouble climbing stairs. Will use it again next year

Room Tip: Lower Floor no lift!

Great location in the center of Bayeux, within walking distance of all major attractions, restaurants and bars. The interior of the hotel is a little tired and the room we had was typically small for a town center hotel but the staff were very friendly and the breakfast good. Paying the extra for car parking also helped.

This hotel is quiet and in a good location. it's lobby is very attractive and staff is very nice and helpful. the room was adequate - clean and comfortable. I liked that staff helped us up three flights with our luggage (our other hotel in Bayeux did not). Also, their restaurant was very good. Breakfast was more varied than our other hotel and the restaurant is more formal and charming. Our last night in town we ate at the hotel as we were pretty tired. We were both surprised at how wonderful it was. The service was very nice, it was also busy, which was kind of nice. I highly recommend enjoying dinner here. You will not be dissappointed. All in all, the price was about the same as the other hotel, maybe a little less, although breakfast a little more, but worth it; the room was about the same as the other hotel, but the service was nicer here, the lobby a little nicer and the restaurant really made the stay perfect for us!
