“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

Our room was beautiful, the dining room is also beautiful, the hosts are gracious, and the breakfast was excellent.
Bayeux is a charming town with nice restaurants with a great location for visiting Normandy beaches.

This place is an absolute gem. The owners are lovely and extremely helpful; the rooms (we stayed in the top room) are charming and very comfortable (we stayed on the top floor, which had a magnificent view of the cathedral); the breakfasts are scrumptious (including a different kind of fruit tart each of the four mornings we were there); the location is perfect; the price is beyond reasonable. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say.The town itself is incredible--do not miss it.

Le Manoir Sainte Victoire is a delightful place to stay. There are 3 rooms in the 15th Century tower and we stayed in the Miro Suite. It was extremely comfortable and charmingly decorated, with a small kitchen and a view across Bayeux towards the Cathedral only 2 blocks away. The hosts Jean Pierre and Katharine are very welcoming and provide a delicious breakfast in their artistic dining room. Art is a theme here, as befits a town known for one of the world's most famous artworks - The Bayeux Tapestry - just 3 or 4 blocks away. We recommend the location for all the museums and historical sites in town and nearby. It is only 10 km to Arromanches on the Normandy Coast. At night the short stroll to quality restaurants is a treat. We could only stay 2 nights but definitely want to stay longer on another trip.

I always prefer a B&B over a chain hotel, and this property is precisely why. Upon ringing at the gate, we were whisked through a stone wall and into an immaculately manicured courtyard with two buildings. One is where the owners reside and the other houses the guest rooms.
We were taken straight to our room, entering through a stone, spiral staircase. Ducking through the low door frame we were greeted with what can best be described as our own castle hide-away. There were stone walls, a high wood-beam ceiling, and heavy dark wood furniture. But for all the old-world appearance, the room is full of modern conveniences. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower with a rain shower-head. The galley kitchen is perfect for preparing a meal for two if you desire. And the bed is comfortable.
It is all the little details that really make the space enjoyable. The wardrobe is large enough that you needn't live out of your suitcase if you don't want to. There is a flat-screen television facing the bed. And there is a lovely tea table set with 2 armchairs and a tray for coffee or tea. The art on the wall is modern and tasteful. And the room is incredibly quiet at night.
The breakfast is served in the main house, in a fantastic spread of breads and toppings, yogurt and house-made tart, not to mention coffee and juices.
The room and breakfast are reason enough to stay here, but what really makes you stay here special is that you feel like a treasured guest, not a paying customer. The owners are unobtrusive, polite, and incredibly helpful. They are the perfect hosts.
My husband and I were planning our return trip before we even left. If that is not an endorsement, I don't know what is.

This B & B was a gem. Our room was on the 3rd floor of the castle part of the property. It was built in the 1600's. Great courtyard to relax and enjoy wine. Charming owner and daughter. Breakfast was good.

What an amazing place to stay. We stayed in the Cocteau room, so am unable to speak of the other rooms, but this place was amazing! Nicer than expected. About 3 blocks from the cathedral and the downtown Bayeux. Highlight of the 4 places we stayed throughout France and in Rome.

I went here with my aunt, my sister and my mother for my mother's 70th birthday, and we were thrilled to have found this gem! An absolutely fantastic little B&B, brilliant location and with extremely friendly and helpful owners. We especially loved the breakfast with e.g. yoghurt, croissants, a variety of marmelades, home made pie and very good coffee, all in an arty setting with a homely feel. I cannot find any downside to this place. We are already longing back!
