Owner description: Situated near the British Military Cemetery of Bayeux, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy narrates the battles which took place in Normandy after the D-Day landings, between 7th June and 29th August 1944. The collections of military equipment, the diorama and the archival films allow the visitor to grasp the enormous effort made during this decisive battle in order to restore peace in Europe.

Excellent museum with a very good film to fill out the details of the story and all the artifacts and dioramas on display.

For me the best part was seeing the children and the parents educating their kids in history, explaining the exhibits. I got busted taking a picture of a dad with his kids. No photos, a city ordinance....only drawback.

Especially enjoyed the video which gave a very good general overview of the battle of Normandy. Lots of well presented information, artefacts and film footage.

This museum is very well done. It is worth the time to spend several hours here to get a good basis for the places you may visit in the area. I think it could hold the interest of those who know a great deal about Normandy and those who may not be as familiar with the history.

Very complete experience. Pictures and films of D-Day, the beach landing and the hedgerow battles.
The weapons, equipment and supplies were very informative. As were the photo displays and the supporting narrative.
