After being in France for a week, the sun came out the day we were here. It was spectacular. Walk through the museum first to get a timeline of the events that built up to 6-6-44. The film clip of letters to home bring life to the people who died that day. Seeing the names and where the soldiers were from hit home when you see your state listed. The rows and rows of brilliant white crosses that overlook the beautiful beach and blue water bring a peaceful feeling of serenity. At 5:00, they take the flag down for the day and be ready to be taken by the sound of Taps being played. This was on my bucket list -- it was amazing.
