Our family of 4 (2 teenage daughters, husband, wife) stayed here 4 nights in July. A great location next to a park (it was loud with young adults celebrating in the park one weekend night), and a few blocks to the cathedral and central town area. This was nice because there was little automobile traffic and noise - and free parking close to the B&B.

The room was on a corner and had views of the park, the cathedral and the interior courtyard. It was large, accommodating all 4 of us easily, and very comfortable, despite no air conditioning. The bathroom was large, as well, with only a shower, but easily big enough for all 4 of us (they had plenty of mirrors and electrical outlets). They had a hairdryer - something we missed in other bed and breakfasts.

Everything was clean, well-taken-care-of, and such that it didn't distract you from the visit.

The hosts were very helpful with suggestions of places to eat and things to do that all hit the mark for our interests. They provided a thorough breakfast with many choices. They even helped carry my 40lb suitcase 2 flights of stairs, both up and down.

The interior courtyard was nice to sit in after a day of touring the D-day historical areas. We also sat in the main floor den to rest and read, which was comfortable, as well. We would definitely stay there again and appreciate the hospitality that helped to make our trip special.

Room Tip: If you need sleeping space for more than 2 travelers, chambre 2 has 2 fold-out chairs that allowed t...

Fond memories of this family friendly! Rarely (but sometimes) there is noise on the square at night in the summer when the weather is mild. We will change this winter all the windows of the second floor to get a better thermal and sound insulation.

I could not have chosen a better B&B for our grandsons first visit to France. We were a party of 7 staying in Bayeux for three nights in June. My husband and I and our 12 year old grandson were in room #3 and our son, wife and 10 year old twins were in room #2. Both rooms were spacious and well appointed. Philippe and Sophie went out of their way to make sure all of us were welcome and comfortable. Our stay was so enjoyable it set a standard that would not be easy to maintain. This was my third stay in Bayeux and I now have found the perfect place for our next visit!!

We recently stayed at the Hotel Particulier Poppa for three nights. We are a family of four, and stayed in two rooms. Both were beautiful, immaculate and comfortable. Our room (#2) had views of the park across the street, the lovely garden in the back (you can relax or have breakfast there) and a nice view of the cathedral. The owners, Philippe and Sophie, could not have been nicer or more accommodating, helping with settling in and advising about restaurants, etc. The hotel is a brief walk to anything you'd want to do or see in Bayeux, which is a great central location for exploring the D-day beaches and Normandy in general. In summary, this place is a gem, and you should not hesitate to book your stay here.

Hotel Particulier Poppa has a great location in the middle of Bayeux. Right across from a nice park. Easy walking distance to everything in town. Really good location for visiting D-Day sites, the Bayeux Tapestry, etc. Philippe and Sophie are very friendly and welcoming. They gave us some good restaurant recommendations in Bayeux. Our room was huge, and the bathroom was almost as big. Nice view of the cathedral. Definitely recommended.

We spent a fair amount of time researching our accomodation in Bayeux, and can only say that Poppa met our expectations to a tee. We had some trouble with our GPS which meant that we arrived later than expected, but Phillipe and Sophie greeted us with open arms and smiling faces,
The residence is in a marvellous position, overlooking the park and with easy 5 minute walking access to the Town proper. The fittings and furnishings were beautifull, and it was great to be able to spend time in the lounge room or jump into the kitchen for a late night tea when required. Breakfasts were splendid and varied, with different breads, fruits, jams, etc on different mornings.Phillipe would spend time with us each morning to ask if we needed any help with our days plans, and suggest different ideas for what we should do. Sophie was also the most gracious host, who would always have a smile on her face , no matter what.
The price was also good, and represented outstanding value for money considering location and amenities. We also adorded the garden, and whilst it was quite cool whilst we were there, a great area to spend some time. We had stayed in over 40 B&B's /small hotels on our trip, and Poppa was one of our top 5.

This is quite the gem in the middle of Bayeux. A beautiful older building with very new and well furnished rooms. The beds were by far that most comfortable we stayed in during our two week trip to France. The breakfast was well done and Philippe and Sophie are both very friendly and accommodating. They were very willing to provide us with various needs throughout our stay. I highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Bayeux.
