Family of 4: 2 rooms for 2 nights. Pricey rate but in line with local prices (we booked two months in advance). We found the hotel to be consistent with the Trip Advisor reviews we read. Proved to be an excellent place to stay. Central to everything and in walking distance of local attractions, restaurants and shops. Clean and in excellent condition. Every room is different. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Staff was helpful and always polite and nice. We will definitely consider this hotel for our next visit. We did not take advantage of the breakfast ... lots of bakeries and coffee shop alternatives for a family of four at a quarter of the price ... but WOW!, the amazing smell of fresh bread in the morning as we woke up almost made us change our minds. This was a very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: You can select your room in advance if you book online well in advance.

I stayed at this charming, elegant Hotel for 3 nights. Our tour was to the Normandy Beaches (in itself a moving experience) however the history of Bayeux is so extraordinary and the Tapestries so accessible...a short walk, it was wonderful. To the left a whole shopping area. Wine, Camembert, French Bread:- Great Lunch or Dinner. Rooms are small (like all of France) but nicely appointed with Bedspreads. Large Bathroom; walk-in Shower, heater, etc. There is TV and wi-fi
And a lovely Breakfast Buffet. The Staff affable, old-world charm accommodating, and speak fluent English. My stay there was memorable and one of the highlights of coming back to France, my favorite place to visit.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have large casement windows, that open out onto beautifully planted gardens.

I really like the Churchill. I thought the staff was very nice, very accommodating. We stayed three nights with two rooms, both rooms were very nice, clean, comfortable. It is perfectly located, with a grocery store right next door and all the attractions very close. We had a view of the cathedral which was wonderful.

We did not have breakfast there so I cannot review that. The parking gets a bit confusing as the lot behind the hotel is a city lot, so you have to move your car (except on Sunday) if you want free parking. I felt like we got conflicting information about this - so make sure you are clear about where you park. We got home and Hertz sent us a parking ticket from somewhere in France - no clue from where as we never had one on our car. The wifi came and went depending on where you were in the room, but it eventually worked and wasn't a huge issue. One thing that struck me about this hotel is that I never heard a noise from outside our room, it is amazingly well insulated!

No, it's not the Ritz, but I'd take the charm and the awkwardly slanted stairs any day! A lovely place to stay, in a lovely city. Simply loved it.

Gem of a small hotel centrally located in Bayeux. Right next to the central courtyard where the D-Day and Mont St. Michel shuttles pick up. 5 minute walk to Bayeux Tapestries and charming main street filled with shops and restaurants, etc.

Rooms are cozy, (remember you are in Europe) but spotless. Excellent water pressure in shower, too! Not 5-star luxury, but just-right French charm after a ing day of sightseeing,

Lovely ambience as walls are filled with historical photos from D-Day and WWII. History buffs, allow extra time to check them out.

Staff speaks English and was most hospitable. Highly recommend.

Visiting our daughter who works in Normany, we wanted a bayeux based hotel. I had spotted this hotel on a previous visit, and was able to get us booked in last minute. Superb Hotel with air condition room on the 1st floor. Full of charm, lovely staff and a terrific central location. Thoroughly recommended and we will stay here again soon we hope.

Room Tip: Ask for air con.

We stayed for one night at the Churchill after an all day tour of D-Day sights. We were not expecting much from the hotel other than a clean place to stay, comfortable beds and air-conditioning. We requested and received a room with four beds. Oddly enough, our room was located outside of the hotel in the courtyard next to table and chairs where people were dining/drinking. We had to keep our curtains closed so passers by could not see inside, even during the day light hours.

Our king bed was downstairs and our daughters had 2 single beds in a loft area upstairs. This did not seem like an issue until our 7 year old daughter woke us up in the middle of the night when she was sleepwalking down the open staircase. This is something she never does so we had no reason to suspect this would be an issue. Keep this in mind if you have small children.

The biggest issue with the room was the disgusting smell that we believe emanated from the carpet. It was a musty, mildew smell that I can only assume came from the carpet being wet on numerous occasions. It was an unbearable smell and one that was quite difficult to live with. We stayed away until the second we wanted to go to bed and checked out first thing in the morning. At one point, my husband considered taking the train back to Paris late that night to avoid the smell.

Maybe it was just our "outside" room that smelled, maybe others have had similar problems....I really do not know. It is on us that we did not bring this to the hotel's attention when we checked in, we should have. I booked this hotel knowing it would not be up to the standards we are accustomed to. Because it was only one night I thought things would be bearable. This room was not bearable. There was a lovely hotel around the corner that I believe was the Churchill's sister hotel. I should have spent the extra money and booked 2 rooms there.

In any event, the staff was nice, our Churchill shuttle to Mont St. Michel was efficient (although a little crowded with 8 passengers plus a driver) and the hotel has a central location to the Normandy beaches, train station and Bayeux shopping and dining district.

We arrived in Bayeux in the teaming rain and were welcomed by the friendly Staff at the Hotel Churchill. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful and when my husband left his hat in the restaurant on departure, a very nice lady ran out after him to the car to return it. The gentleman at the desk also made a wonderful dinner recommendation which resulted in a delicious meal.
Loved this place!
