“Literally AMAZING cakes and coffee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2013

If you are in Bayeux, go here! The selection of cakes is impressive, the taste even more so. The lady who runs the shop is very friendly and helpful. The interior is stunning, with a gorgeous painted ceiling. After cycling for 2 weeks in Spain and France (and sampling all of the cakes and pastries on offer), my friend and I decided that this was the BEST place we had been.

“Pastries to dazzle your eyes and excite your belly!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2013

We happened upon the Confiserie on St. Michel in Bayeux. From the name, we assume that it's affiliated with the Hotel Reine Mathilde and the Brasserie Reine Mathilde, but it's in a whole separate building.

The environment is bright and smells incredible. There are lots of different pastries to pick from. We made it our routine breakfast stop. We tried something new every day until I found the Peltier. I haven't seen any references to it anywhere else, but it's the most fabulous pastry I've ever had. It was something like a cross between a meringue and a muffin, with a small amount of creamy filling. Wow! Lots of other things, like eclairs, fruit tarts, etc.

All the locals showed up on Saturday morning to pick up specialty orders, or meet their friends for a snack.
