“Excellent Gite”
Reviewed 5 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We have stayed at several Gites over the years, and rate this one as probably the best for both its'situation and the thoughtful way in which it has been furnished. The gardens are a delight, and we were fortunate enough to be there when the Cherry tree was full of fruit we really hope that we can return one day

“Lovely countryside cottage for two”
Reviewed 8 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Very comfortable and cosy, everything you could want for a quiet restful holiday, its dark enough at night to see all the stars (well lots more than I can see at home).
The birdsong is amazing as are the views and the sunrise/sunsets
Huge log pile in the barn to keep the wood burner going and make the evenings nice and warm. All in all lovely.

“Quaint cottage”

On our arrival we initially wondered if we had got the right track off the road, however further down the lane you turn through the gap in the hedgerow and before you the cottage sits, looking just as we hoped from photographs we’d seen.
The cottage is in a quiet venue, so ensure you bring back from your day out all the provisions you require for that evening and the next morning as there is no local shop. The peace and quiet is only broken by the bird song and occasionally by a distant tractor, with your eye taken by the wild rabbits running across the adjoining field.
If you are looking for small and charming cottage for two, with a log burner and a romantic ambience this cottage will not leave you disappointed. It has a rustic charm that is perfect for its location and its interior meets all the needs for two. With its bijou nature it was more than suitable for my wife and I to enjoy a lovely week.
In respect to the wider location, it is a short drive to Bayeux and the D-Day landings beyond. To travel a little further to Le Mont-Saint-Michel and the Château de Falaise is well worth going those extra miles.
Therefore if you are looking for peace and quiet in a rural location for two, with days out on your door step I would certainly recommend the Le Petit Promenant, as it will provide you with just what you want.

“A perfect place to stay”

We stayed at the Petit Promenant in June with our eight month old. For a couple or those like ourselves with a baby it couldn't have suited us better. Set down a private lane in rolling French countryside with accompanying views it was as tranquil as you could get. The cottage itself (a converted bakery I think, attached to the currently unused old farmhouse) was small but had everything you needed, decent kitchen, woodburner, reasonable sized bedroom upstairs etc. About a forty minute drive from the ferry at Caen and thirty minutes ish to Bayeaux with decent supermarkets. Of course there's plenty to do as well, aforementioned Bayeaux with its magnificent Cathedral and tapestry and for those with an interest in WW2 the Normandy Beaches. We'd love to go back but unfortunately our daughter will be a little too big to qualify as a babe in arms!
