“Great location in a nice town, close to the historical Normandie coast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

Nice and friendly welcome from the manager and the hotel is not so modern, but clean, cozy and it makes you feel at home and welcome. The town Bayeaux is small and the hotel is central located, close to the Notre Dame cathedral. Parking for free on the street just outside the hotel. On the downside: The WiFi was free but not always working. The breakfast not included. Should always be included in the room price.

Despite a little error on my behalf with the booking dates, Hotel Le Bayeux was very accommodating and helpful in putting us up (since there was, thankfully) a room free.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable and minutes away from the city centre. We stayed here with a small infant and the room that we were in had a little separate area where she could sleep, which was ideal.

Overall, I would have no problem recommending this hotel on your trip to Bayeux!

Room Tip: If you're travelling with children the room with a a little separation area might be ideal for y...

Two of us spent one night in this comfortable hotel in the heart of Bayeux. We took a train from Paris in the afternoon as we wanted to get an early start for Overlord Tour of the Normany beaches the next morning. The beds were so comfortable with soft sheets and the plushest of comforters. I look for things like that. For $5.00 US we rented a DVD player and selected one of their many movies on D-Day. It got us prepared for the next day. The breakfast the next morning was "to die for." I think we paid $10 US extra and it was worth it. They had a latte/cappuccino machine which served hot delicious drinks and the hot croissants, well, what can I say. Along with those was fruit, yoghurt, cereals, eggs, bacon, on and on. Located right in the heart of Bayeux, we enjoyed a walk around the city plus it's within walking distance from the train station.

We booked this hotel from the reviews and the proximity to the beaches of Normandy. It was close to everything in the old section of town especially Notre Dame Cathedral and the tapestry museum. The paid for breakfast was a good value, varied and plentiful. The breakfast room was nicely decorated and facing the Church. The staff in the kitchen couldn't do enough for you. Since a group tour could not be arranged by the front desk at such short notice they looked into a rental car for us. We were able to get a automatic transmission from the Renault dealership for a great daily rate. With a guide book and stopping at the centers at each sight we saw everything in nine hours on our own. The supermarket is close to the hotel and they also have an honesty bar and snacks in the lobby if you just want a late night drink.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the room with the skylight.

I highly recommend Hotel Le Bayeux. My wife and I stayed there for a couple of nights this past February while we visited Normandie. The hotel gave us the "historical" experience we were looking for. It's just a short walk from the train station (we actually walked to the hotel when we arrived) and the center of town. Althought it's not luxourious, it's well maintained and very clean. The staff is very friendly and always looking to help you out. They helped us secure a tour of the area with a respectable local company. The hotel has rooms of various sizes so be sure you know what your getting. We had a decent size room with a queen bed, a small TV and a small bathroom. It was OK for the price we paid (about 50 euros). More importantly, it passed my OCD wife's "clean" test so all was good! The only issue we had at the hotel was a circut braker going out and affecting our water heater. The staff was quick to move us to another, much larger rooom (thankfully one was available), no fuss whatsoever. Overall, my wife and I had a very pleasent time in Bayeux and would stay at this hotel again if we ever go back. I highly recommend it if you looking for a decent hotel at a decent price.

Room Tip: Make sure you know what type of room your getting. There are many different types/sizes in this hote...

This was my favorite hotel on our tour of Normandy. Bayeux is a beautiful burrow and this hotel is perfect. The concierge was funny and helpful, the hospitality,5 star. The breakfast each morning jump start the day with a fantastic spread.

This hotel has a great location and the breakfast was good. Otherwise, the service was mixed: some nice people and one very rigid woman who practically told me what I could and could not do in Bayeux. The room was OK but not exceptional in any way.
