Our stay at Clos de Bellefontaine was the perfect birthday treat. The house is a delight set in a beautiful, mature garden, the terrace being an ideal place for a glass of wine at the end of a day of sightseeing. The room was called "Charme" and it definitely lived up to its name with its muted colours and tasteful decor, the beds were very comfortable too. Carole's breakfasts were delicious and filling and we looked forward to them daily. We enjoyed having access to the lounge area where we could make drinks and were provided with cakes - a real bonus!! Carole was also very useful in kindly providing us with details for our days out and we would recommend a visit to the Chateau de Vendeuvre. We would definitely return to the peace and calm of this delightful house and wish we had been able to stay longer.

Beautiful B&B located just minutes from downtown Bayeux. The room was large, newly remodeled and very comfortable. Our room also had access to a very nice living room with refreshments as well. The breakfast was excellent! Carole was a great host and provided us with maps, tourist information and tips on where to eat. I only wish we had arranged to spend more time there and in Bayeux.

Room Tip: This B&B only has two rooms. While we didn't see the other room, I think it was also equall...

Clos de Bellefontaine provided the charm of a B&B while still being centrally located for exploring Bayeux on foot. It's location in Bayeux also made it a great base for us to explore the rest of Normandy. The Normandy beaches, Le Mont Saint-Michel, Giverny, Honfleur, and Étretat were all easily doable as day trips by car. Our room was lovely and spacious with lots of natural light. The hosts were most welcoming and had great suggestions for things to see in the area, and the breakfast spread was great.

We really enjoyed our two night stay in Bayeux, a highlight of which was our time in this charming B&B. Run with loving and personal care by Carol and Jerome, the place is charming. Our room was large and nicely appointed, with a lovely view of their garden. It is extremely conveniently located to the old city center, including the magnificient Bayeux tapestry and cathedral, and is a great base from which to visit D-Day sites. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and nicely furnished. Breakfast was a cut above and very delicious. We very much enjoyed talking with and getting to know the owners, Carol and Jerome, a charming couple who went out of their way that we had a good time. For example, Carol spend a lot of time mapping out all the important D-Day sites, explaining them to us and helping us structure our visit to them. This sort of help was most useful and appreciated. We would recommend this place to all and if we are ever back in this region of France will be sure to visit it again. Clos de Bellefontaine is recommended to all without any reservations.

We arrived at the Bayeux train station on a cold rainy day and of course the taxis stayed home in that weather. I had my handwritten directions but was not sure which street to take as many streets led to the traffic circle at the station. A well-meaning local told me which street to take and he said to turn right onto Bellefontaine. Well, that led us to the Hotel Bellefontaine, not the Clos du Bellefontaine, which was in the other direction. Ouch! As we sloshed back outside and steeled ourselves for the journey I got a call from Jerome, the owner, who came looking for us and drove us to his place. How's that for above and beyond the call of duty? Then we met his wonderful wife Carole, who was so nice to us and made us feel comfortable right away. This place has a lot of 5-star ratings so read them if you want a detailed description of the B&B.
JUST BELIEVE THEM. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST. ONLY TWO ROOMS SO BOOK NOW!

Room Tip: Leave it to Carole.

The Clos is a hidden gem in a beautiful, quaint town. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations. Beautiful house, tastefully decorated. Carole's hospitality was overwhelming and the breakfast was wonderfully done. An easy walk to City Centre. We were made to feel "at home" in every way. Will definitely try to return.

The hosts here, right from the start of our stay, were very helpful and kind - yet at the same time left us with our privacy as needed.
We had a lovely stay here. Our room was very large and on the warm afternoon we sat out on the back deck in the sunshine with a cup of tea. It was blissful.
Very close to town and the tapestry. We wandered everywhere.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family to stay here.
