“just exquisite”
Reviewed 8 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

What a really delightful fire, we thought it was just ideal for both our visit and accommodation. Just right for the four of us, good fixtures and fittings, the kitchen well equipped.not far from Balleroy, Bayeur, Normandy Beaches, Cean and Peusus Bridge all within easy reach, St Lo easily reached and explored from the gite. It's a lovely setting , Steven made us feel at home with his visit and supply of logs for the stove. Just a joy to have been guests.

“A pretty little cottage in a beautiful part of Normandy”
Reviewed 5 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

To start, the cottage is not actually that little, it was plenty big enough for us and our 2 young children for the week, It just looks like a little quaint french cottage should, both inside and out.
The cottage was well equipped with a small but clean kitchen and a good shower in the bathroom, which is downstairs, off the kitchen. The lounge diner is of a good size has a wonderful wood burner that keeps the whole house warm when you get used to using it, which is handy as the upstairs bedrooms can get quite cold.

The area itself is beautiful with the National Forest parks less than 5 minutes drive away, where we had numerous picnics and our children rode there bikes without any fear of traffic.

The cottage is also situated well within easy reach of the tourist areas of Normandy.

Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay.

“Peaceful, with easy access to Normandy beaches”

La Londe is exactly as advertised and met all of our expectations. We loved peaceful location, the wood burning stove (with logs regularly replenished by Stephen), the thick walls of the cottage and the fact that it felt so cosy. The kitchen and gite in general was well equipped. Stephen the property manager was very knowledgeable about the local area and available to offer advice without being intrusive.
Our main purpose was to visit the Normandy beaches and the location was great for doing so. We started at Pegasus Bridge and work our way across to Utah beach over six days. In addition we visited the Caen Memorial (which I would thoroughly recommend if weather is forecasted to be rainy) and Mont St Michel. All of the above were easily accessible from La Londe.
The directions provided to La Londe were comprehensive and very accurate which was very helpful.
I would not hesitate to recommend this property and will hopefully return as one week was just not long enough.

“Ideal Base for Visiting the Historical Sites around Bayeux.”
Reviewed 5 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The well equipped gite was an ideal base for touring around the Normandy D-Day Beaches. It's location is in a quiet rural area. The nearby town of Balleroy has a small supermarket etc. This time of year we were unable to find a place to eat in the evenings; for this we had to go to Bayeux.

“Perfect after a last minute change of plan”

After a couple of false starts booking our holiday this year we needed to find somewhere for a family holiday with plenty to do, but not activity based. We settled on Normandy, and found La Londe. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, well equipped and quiet - it suited our needs perfectly. Within driving distance of the D-Day beaches, Bayeux, St Lo, Caen ... we only had a week and wished we had longer there was so much we wanted to do but just didn't have time for.

“A little piece of heaven”

Have just spent a wonderful week at La Londe. The only thing that disturbed the peace and quiet was the bird song. Very rural but not too far from civilisation, all shops and petrol within 20 minutes. The Gite is very well equipped (even has sharp knives) and comfortable with all mod cons. Your host Stephen is very helpful but completely unobtrusive, and he speaks excellent English. Days out are many and various, Bayeux Tapestry, The Normandy Beaches, William The Conquerors Castle to name a few are all within an hour’s drive. Do try the local Cidre and Calvados.

“Relaxing, rural location”

This is a very pleasant, simple gite with all the contents one needs for a break. Good location for visiting the Dday beaches and Bayeux. The welcome was good and the transfer of the returned deposit very quick. TV and wifi very erratic but unsurprising in such a rural area.

Thanks for the review, pleased you had a good stay. The TV is now OK, had to 'prune' one of the trees in the way of the satellite dish. The wifi has been upgraded, now works much better. Be pleased to see you back here for a return. Stephen
