During a recent trip I visited over 30 museums, memorials and battlefields related to the Battle of Normandy. This is by far the best. As a matter of opinion, the Memorial of Caen captures the truth of war and the specifics of Normandy and Caen far better than our very own National WWII Museum in New Orleans. The skill of the staff and volunteers at the Caen Memorial in pulling out and presenting the very personal stories of those who suffered from the shear and vast numbers which most museums seem to emphasize was amazing and quite moving.
