“Good bunker”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Visited on Good Friday -busy lots of school groups.
Quite a lot of museum dedicated to German occupation and the pre-war days in France.
I felt it was a bit "light" on actual war coverage. Some interesting short films and news snippets from the day with seating available.
Best was the Bunker - worth going down to to view. Not many vehicles/aircraft on display.
Cafeteria OK & parking -with overflow parking in camper van area.

“School Trip April 2014”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

What a great place, totally spoilt by a group of older students (possibly equivalent of Sixth Form) from France. Their behaviour was appalling despite the best efforts of the staff - little or no respect. Some were sitting on information desks and didn't even move for some elderly American visitors just wanting to read info on what they were viewing.
Don't let this put you off, I have been here before and wasn't like this. However, staff in charge of young visitors should be more in control than these were - call yourselves professionals - I don't think so. Would've been better if some were forcibly removed to send the message to the rest.

“Good coverage of WW2 especially D day”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

There is so much information here that it is lucky the tickets are valid for 24hrs as it takes a whole day to absorb it all. Good selection of photos, maps and display cabinets. Be aware though there will be hordes of people especially school groups.
There is plenty of free parking plus 2 places to eat. Plenty of space outside if you want to have a picnic.

“Museum of Peace”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Very interesting exhibits and many films. Plan on spending most of the day there. Bring a picnic and eat outside on the grounds, weather permitting. If not, there is a cafeteria.

This is a most Phenomenal place to visit. It is inspiring, moving and complete in its story of war. It is truly a museum of peace. It is not a place to fit into a days schedule. One does need a whole day to experience all it has to offer. As we approach 70 years since D day it is a wonderful place to understand what D day means to Europe and especially the French
