We ate at Mancel twice five years ago and decided to come back again this month. It is located in Caen at the Chateau, the place occupied by William The Conquerer around 1063.
The restaurant has slipped a notch(my wife thought two notches) We took two local friends and another guest from the U.S. at around 8:30PM. It happened to be a band night with this group playing some oldies as this was also the week of the 70th D-Day ceremonies. It was difficult to talk and that was part of the problem as it was too hot to sit outside.(Yes, hot in Caen)
The food was average and in France, it is difficult to survive on average but the place was packed and people seemed to enjoy the music.
