“Not for families and oddly expensive”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

We stayed with children having arrived from the UK. The family room is poorly equipped for families, the curtains are see-through, there are no facilities. Be careful about the price as it is oddly expensive. We were charged for our 10month old daughters breakfast - they claimed we ordered a croissant and 1m baguette for her and also a jug of coffee for her. The manager is very rude and having been forced to store a bike in a large empty garage, they levied a charge for the space the bike took up, leaning against a wall. The hotel is run down and close to the end of the road. There are a lot of alternatives - don't be fooled by the convenient location.

Room Tip: Another Hotel.

We stayed in bright and large rooms. The lady on the desk was v friendly. We enjoyed the company of the hotel cat.

Room Tip: I enjoyed my stay in the Jonquille room.

Lovely easy to find hotel with very helpfull staff. Excellent location for the ferry and the town. Will definitely use again. Just one minus no tea/coffee making facilities in room.

We stayed at this hotel on our journey home from Finistere,it was for only one night. We were told the price for our room including breakfast was 59 euros. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable but has no parking facilities. When we went to pay the next morning we were charged the price of 74.60 euros. This included service charge and the breakfast of 7.00 euro a head, which I was extremely annoyed about as we believed that the breakfast was included in the original price of 59 euros! We did finally pay this charge but were very mislead in the belief that breakfast was included.Be careful of this in France!!

We have stayed at the Hotel Renaissance on a number of occasions, most recently in mid June 2006 and have always found it a really pleasant experience. The hotel is very conveniently situated near both the sea front and the town, staff are always friendly although we've rarely found anyone who speaks English. The rooms are all named after flowers and are nicely furnished and spotlessly clean, as is the whole hotel. Prices are very reasonable and it is an ideal choice for an overnight stop before or after a ferry crossing. Highly recommended.
