“Great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2013

We spent 3 nights at this charming place. Location is great ( 5 min to the beach and to the city cener) , breakfast ( 9 euro only) is better than we had in Parisian hotel for 20 euro, owners are very friendly.
We really enjoyed our stay! Price to quality ratio -I think it is the best in Deauville.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the yard, not the road.

We made a direct booking for 6 nights with madame Bartert, one of the owners of the hotel.
Her husband is doing the excellent french characteristic breakfast and both they wil do their utmost to make your stay as comfortable as they can with all their good advices where to go, to dine etc.
Location is superb, just around the corner of the center near the fountain and the marketplace which has a daily market in the high season (july, august?). All the restaurants and shops are situated around your hotel.
A 10 minutes walk to the Deauville beach, not our favorite but....just around the corner via the Rue Mirabeau you can pickup the Bac de Deauville-Trouville s. Mer and go over the port with a small boat to the fish market and the beautiful beach of Trouville till 21.00h in the evening. A walk to Trouville takes about a quarter over The Pont de Belges.
In the street of the hotel is Parking Payant but around the corner in the Rue Mirabeau and General Leclerc we always found a non-paying place..
The Barterts give really value for money and making a big positive difference to the other bigger and much more expensive Deauville hotels.
Is their a point of critic. Yes, the location near the sea gives the seagulls a good place to make their songs early in the morning. And the provisoning of the marketplace gives the noise of the small trucks coming along. But thats the other side of location, location, you can't win them all.
No airco can be a problem.
So location, feeling at home and value for money. We had a great stay!

Room Tip: We had room number one, Lamartine. It was one of the cheaper rooms, a bit smaller bedroom but a very...

Staying over for the horse sales meant a bit of a walk to the sales complex and racecourse but very close to centre of town; without being stuck right in middle of it. The hotel owners could not have been more friendly or helpful and the room while a bit basic, was clean and the bed very comfortable. Certainly recommend it to those who are on a business trip or those on bit more of a budget and will return there for the next sales dates I have go over for.
One complaint would there being no fridge in your room so not ideal if you want to get bottled water or cold drinks in for the morning but breakfast made up for it.

Really cosy hotel, very good location in the center 10 minutes walking from the station but away from the noise of people crowds.
I was lucky to have room number 2, Verlaine. Comfortable bed, very spacious bathroom, wi-fi. The owners are truly friendly and always eager to help you.
Breakfast is nice with a selection of cheeses, fresh bakery, fresh orange juice.

A pit-stop on the way West, we only had one night at this little family-run hotel in Deauville.
Patrick and Miriam were incredibly welcoming and we spent a comfortable night.
Breakfast the next morning was amazing, my partner has not stopped telling everyone about it!
Oranges squeezed as you sat down, wonderful breads and pastries, jams, cheeses, meats.
Go to this place just for the breakfast!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the EPT (European Poker Tour) Deauville leg. We stayed for about nine days so I feel we got a really nice understanding of the hotel. The owners are very friendly, willing to assist with anything, and the definition of hospitable. My boyfriend always raved about the fresh squeezed orange juice. The room, and every part of the hotel were very clean. I have stayed in B&B style hotels where you feel like you are in a museum, this does not fall into that uncomfortable category. Clean but fairly homey. My only regret, as we were there in winter, is that we did not get to use the beautiful little courtyard. Besides all the perks and nice things about the hotel, I ended up settling on a 5 star rating because of the bang for the buck. Deauville is insanely expensive (and a little boring at times as I soon found out) but this hotel really hits a sweet spot for price, and is exceptional in its hospitality.
