Stayed for three nights on a golf holiday rooms are a good size and clean. Food was good evening meals there was a choice of dishes 4/5 course breakfast was buffet with a good choice. We had dinner and breakfast included in our golf/hotel package also a discount on drinks at the bar which was a good saving as prices were a bit expensive. The hotel pool was heated and easy to get into but a bit busy as it was the weekend, played three different courses two were very good but the hotel course was not brilliant. Hotel runs a shuttle bus to the sister hotel in the town about 10 minute drive away. Would recommend and stay at the hotel again

We stayed here for four nights to enjoy the horse racing and polo at the local tracks. From the moment we arrived, my husband and I were both very impressed with the service here. It is friendly and efficient - and this standard is consistent from porter, reception, housekeeping and the bars. The concierge is super - he looks very business-like in his smart suit, but is actually a real sweetheart. We bought a copy of Paris Turf so he immediately dug out free tickets for the racecourse. We saw him coming down to the pool to track down two young men because he'd found some information for them. Nothing was too much trouble. I'd asked him about the Polo matches but it was too late in the evening for him to find anything out, so he had looked into it in the morning and then recognised my husband in reception and handed on the information we needed - very proactive.
Each day our room was cleaned within one hour of putting-up our "please clean the room" sign. We have stayed in lots of 4* and 5* hotels before but NEVER have we seen this level of efficiency and it is great to have a clean room almost all day.
Whilst the service is first class, the hotel is not without a few idiosyncrasies which you should be aware of before booking. First of all perfection clearly comes at a price because we were faced with the highest bar bills we have ever encountered. Cocktails are around 15 Euros, spirits 14 Euros, and champagne around 16 Euros a glass ( go to Clairefontaine racecourse where it is 5 Euros!). Bar food includes pasta at around 16-18 Euros and a 200g cheeseburger and fries at 25 Euros.
If, like us, these prices make you feel a little weak at the knees, I can advise you that the Clubhouse on the golf course is a little cheaper for drinks and serves some different food at cheaper prices, however food is served only until either 4pm or 5pm ( sorry I've forgotten which) and the clubhouse is closed altogether by 8 pm.
In fairness to the hotel, Deauville is just an expensive place, and their prices are not really out of keeping with many other local establishments. Most of the food was of good quality too, although I was deeply unimpressed with the vegetarian lasagne which was oversalted, no white sauce and no texture being largely just mushed up onion, garlic and aubergine - I make a better one myself! I would also recommend you avoid the CVT ( chicken and truffle club sandwich - there is a ton of raw garlic minced with the truffle which means you can't taste anything else!). On the other hand, we would recommend the chicken tikka and pasta arrabiata, both of which are very simple but really well-cooked and seasoned.
Another idiosyncrasy - as other reviewers have picked up, is that the furnishings and decor are showing signs of age. It didn't trouble us at all - everything is spotlessly clean and functional but the furniture is very old fashioned and everything is just a little bit "lived in". Finally, there is no air-conditioning - but the size of the windows in the bedrooms is huge and we found we could get a good breeze through the room that way, so we never found this to be an issue.
The facilities at the hotel are very nice. My husband appreciated the free bikes - but bring your own helmet - and , be warned, your return route will inevitably be up a VERY steep hill!
The outdoor pool and garden are really pretty and very comfortable.
All in all, this is a super hotel, which I would thoroughly enjoy if I were a millionaire. Let's hope I win the lottery, in which case we'll be back again next year!

We stayed here near Deauville for 4 nights. Old fashioned charm and service. Lovely rooms overlooking the sea in the distance over the town of Deauville. Did not play golf or use any facilities. Food was very good but expensive and there is really no place else to eat unless you have a car. Buffet breakfast wonderful. If you dont mind being outside the city its a great hotel. The rooms are traditional and comfortable, the bathrooms well appointed. If you go, ask about its role in WWII.

Room Tip: The hotel is in a very quite location with acres of privacy surrounded by a golf course.

This was my second stay at this hotel. Both stays were as part of an 8 man golf weekend. The golf course is 1st class and there's a great swimming pool. The Hotel is full of old world elegance and charm albeit some of the decor is fading and the spacious rooms are in need of 'refreshing'. The restaurant serves fine food via smiling efficient staff. We'll be back.

Room Tip: I think the rooms on both sides are as good the others. If you're a golfer, play at St Julien...

The hotel has a unique style but it just need so much to be refreshed.

Since years it looks like the only updates in the hotel have been the prices... from francs to euro...

The staff is friendly but have not mush else too say or can do but "we know, owners plan refurbishment soon..."

Great place to stay if you come for the golf but be aware that the hotel is not at the center of Deauville and at the top of a small hill. So you'd better come with a car if you want to visit around.

A really huge hotel but not overly 'corporate'. Very spacious rooms with great views, lovely common areas, loads of parking, excellent breakfast and good service throughout. Highly recommended. The bar has an enclosed verandah area which is perfect for early evening drinks!

Room Tip: Back of the hotel to get a superb view.

The staff was really polite and friendly.
Amazing breakfast.
Very big room with an amazing window and an incredible view.
Far from the city centre, but 10 mins away by car.
The carpet in the room was a bit dirty.
The toilet was separate from the bathroom, which was a bit bizarre.
My room was connected to another room by a door, which meant I could hear a lot of what was going on next door. Luckly, the staff gave me earplugs and told the guest next door to keep it down.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms connected by internal doors to other rooms. Most rooms have a nice room, but those facin...
