My wife and I stayed for a week during the American film festival. We were within easy walking distance of the three cinemas which showed the movies and had a bathroom and separate shower room as well as a kitchen and living room. There was ample car parking. The staff were friendly and helpful , they even provided me with an adaptor to charge my mobile.A supermarket was a short walk and we made our own breakfasts and lunches whilst eating dinners at the many nearby restaurants. We watched 2 films each day. We hope to return next year.

The hotel is in a good location and is pretty from the outside. That unfortunately is all the positives one can say. The hallways have a dirty white carpet and a very strange smell. The room had a worse smell and unfortunately we couldn't open the windows because of the mosquitoes. We had some big ones in the room after leaving the window open for a few minutes. Our room overlooked the pool and the garden and the noise was horrendous, even with the doors and windows closed. We tried to stay out as long as possible because it was such an unpleasant hotel( luckily Deauville is a lovely town) and when we came home we could here all the noises from the room above- not noises I wanted to explain to my child. At 7.30 the following morning it sounded like furniture being moved above our heads. It was really awful. The sheets had hair on them and when I requested them be changed the cleaning staff had an awful attitude. The bathroom floods as there is no shower cubicle. Every other hotel we stayed at in France was lovely except this one. I was happy to leave

We stayed here for the three days leading up to the Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville Hippodrome. The Hippodrome is a 2 minutes walk away, Clairefontaine is probably 20 minutes by foot. Both race courses are terrific places to spend the afternoon.

I have nothing really bad to say about this place. It's in reasonable condition. It's clean. The beds are comfortable. We stayed on the fourth floor at the back of the building and had no noise at all (I'm very sensitive to this). The building is on the busy Avenue De La Republique, but I think the traffic noise on the street side is not that bad either.

There was a swimming pool and sauna, and massages are available (I didn't use any of these services so I can't comment on their quality). There's free Wireless internet.

But all things considered, it's expensive. Deauville is upmarket and expensive. I don't know if you will get much better for this price in this town, but ignoring the central location in a very nice town, this is very expensive for what it is.

Some advice: don't pay for the private parking. It's 10 euro a night and you can easily park your car in the surrounding area which is safe. We parked our car right in front of the hotel, actually.

This apartment building is located in a beautiful safe area of Deauville and is very modern with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room. It also has laundry facilities and free Wifi.

We had a 2 room apartment with balconies with was in immaculate condition. We had a bathroom, and a separate shower / WC room. The kitchen had everything you'd expect, microwave, hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer.

It's located only a few minutes walk to the wonderful beach or the town centre. There was a supermarket a few minutes walk away where you could get all you need.

They provided a cot and high chair for our 1 year old but the high chair was not that safe as the straps could not be fastened.

I would definitely recommend this to a friend and consider going here again in the future. It's an ideal place for a family holiday.

From the streetview La Closerie Hotel looks like a nice modern hotel. Once inside we were pleased to discover that the studio room (had a kitchen area) is large for European standards. But then the problems came to surface. The shower had no curtain or even a shower area. The entire bathroom floods. We had to use our towels to clean up the floor then we were charged when we requested additional towels. Chambermaids did not come everyday nor did they refresh the towels or take out the trash. When we asked about the trash we were informed that WE had to take it out ourselves and we had to wash the dishes (thank goodness we only used a few glasses). The real kicker is that they charged us 10 Euros for a small bag that had dish washing detergent in it. None of the additional charges or cleaning expectations were mentioned in any of the documentation when we made the reservation nor when we checked in. One final note, the walls are very thin and you can hear the people in the nearby rooms actually using their bathroom...if you know what I mean. No sleep. We actually checked out a day early because of the poor quality.

There seems to be a rather mixed selection of reviews for this establishment which surprises me given an overall very favorable experience. However be aware this is a 4 star residence rather than 4 star hotel and I believe this will help you make an informed choice.

My comments are based on having just spent two nights there with my signifcant other in a one bedroom studio apartment.

The studio features a separate WC, and a modestly sized bedroom/living area, in which the small kitchenette is hidden behind two doors. Here you will find a decent sized fridge, sink, microwave, coffee maker and a two ringed hob. Pots, pans, glasses, crockery and cutlery are either in the kitchenette or large sideboard on which you'll find the flatscreen cable TV (English SKY news available).

Additionally there is a separate smallish shower room with sink but this is adequate and shower has good pressure. Studio benefits from a charming little balcony, with table and chairs, overlooking the enclosed garden area - although some rooms will not benefit from this.

Additionally studio benefits from being clean and airy with a free safe, good sized wardrobe and a comfortable bed.

The residences location is great for Deauville itself and it is only 10 minutes walk to the fantastic beach & facilities. As this was my first visit to Deauville I have to say I was greatly impressed with this upmarket French seaside town - it is worth spending a long weekend there if you are in Normandy.

Staff were friendly & helpful but as I speak OK French this wasn't a problem. There is a great medium sized pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi which is free to use and we found very quiet.

As for negatives please watch the lack of air conditioning in the room and whilst you can open the patio windows mosquitoes in this area seem especially hungry.

Other items to note include the reception isn't 24hrs, and the unsupervised leisure facilities shut at 8.30pm during the week.

  • Liked — Location, pool & private garden area
  • Disliked — Lack of air conditioning in the room

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 days in July. We expected a better experience after reading the reviews (and the rate of 225 Euros a night) The apartment is small and especially the bedrooms. The baby cot hardly fit into the room and you had to squeeze into the shower as the door couldn't be opened completely. The shower room is not just TINY, it is claustrophobic. The only toilet is in the bathroom which is very inconvenient if you are staying with several people in the apartment. The kitchen is more of a kitchenette, there is no oven and limited supplies. The rooms do not get cleaned during your stay, you have to take out your own garbage, but no one tells you were to leave it. The staff should improve their english as their understanding is very limited. All in all very expensive for the service received.

Deauville on the other hand is lovely! Fresh food market every day. beautiful beach and fabulous shopping!
