We had the 'pastel room' which was actually located in a separate building in the courtyard - a lovely well appointed and nicely decorated room with both a big bath and a shower in the en suite. Everything was spotlessly clean and the breakfast served in the sunshine in the courtyard was delicious and plentiful. The owners were friendly and helpful, sorting tickets for us to enter the Monet gardens without queuing the following day. Parking was available opposite the B&B and there's a side access to the courtyard meaning one has independent access without going through the main house. It's worth getting to Giverny in the afternoon as a stroll round the village in the late afternoon/early evening after most of the tourists have left is an experience not to be missed!

Staying at this delightful B & B will add to the overall experience of Giverny. The rooms are lovely, the courtyard is delightful and the owners are charming. In the evening you will feel more at one with the surroundings of the beautiful town than with the rest of the tourists during the day.

We stayed one night with Mrs. Pain, whose Impressionist-themed B&B is delightful. The B&B is located on the one main street through town, and we found street parking immediately, right by the front door. The public and private rooms are filled with impressionist paintings, and the room doors are painted with impressionist paintings. Mrs Pain was welcoming, spoke excellent English, and offered suggestions for a walking trail we thoroughly enjoyed (after the gardens, of course). When we picnicked in her courtyard/garden and she saw we'd brought down bathroom glasses for our wine, she immediately brought us wine glasses. She has two adorable, old, large dogs.

Our large room had wooden floors, a large armoire, a comfortable bed, 2 night stands, a small table with 3 chairs and fresh flowers (such a nice touch), two sets of French windows, and a small table set with tea/coffee service, bottled water, and electric kettle. The room was very quiet once all the people has left for the day.

The huge bathroom had an excellent shower, colored towels (and washcloths, a rarity) which smelled of the best fabric softener ever, soap and shampoo, hair dryer, and even Q-tips and makeup remover pads. Mrs Pain adds so many nice touches that this proved to be our favorite B&B if our two week stay in France. Oh, by the way, best coffee we had anywhere, too.

The large breakfast eating area has a tv/DVD/movies, a table of books, a piano, and a basket of nuts to crack and enjoy with your wine. Our breakfast was plentiful with breads, jams, yogurt, homemade muesli, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and orange juice.

We would definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Coin des Artistes. Excellent value! Mrs Pain was a great hostess, and our room was excellent. A bottle of wine in their courtyard with some cheese was a great way to relax after a hectic day getting out of Paris. Wish we had stayed longer. Giverney is a cute little village with many lovely gardens, as well as Monet,s of course.

We had 2 very comfortable nights in the family cottage with plenty of room for the 4 of us - the kids were up in a loft and had their own space. Laurence even put out some comic books for them to read! The kitchen was lovely to have but we ended up eating our dinners out and bringing lunches back to the B&B to eat at our table in the courtyard. It was absolutely lovely and the room was clean, the shower was wonderful (compared to other places we stayed where I refused to step foot in the shower!) During the day the street is full of tourists, but in early morning and later in the day it clears out and we never moved our car - everything is close enough to walk to! Breakfasts were plentiful and and we ate very well. Would highly recommend.

Returned a year later to this excellent B & B and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Laurence was wonderful and went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. The accommodation is superb in the 'Bread Oven' which is a split level 'cottage' for 4 with the added bonus of being able to cook a simple meal. Breakfast was served in the courtyard which was absolutely fantastic as we really had the weather for it this year. A great place to stay for visiting Monet's house and garden, Impressionists Museum, Mechanical Museum (well worth a visit and free!), La Roche Guyon, Vernon and Versailles. Overall a fabulous place to stay with an equally fabulous hostess. Thank you Laurence.

Room Tip: Bread Oven to be able to cook and it sleeps 4
