“Time capsule?”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

OK, so it's pretty & quaint. What you can see through all those cameras! Talk about a tourist hotspot. This is one of those places that too many people ruin the experience in. If you can't do crowds then avoid, we stayed (in a LOVELY hotel restaurant down the road - le Jardins des Plumes) breakfasted early & hit the doors just after 9am in late August. Still couldn't move for coach tours from out of town.
That said, you can't get a better idea of what Monet was actually looking at then being there. We then spent the next morning at L'Orangerie looking at what he saw & you get a good appreciation that way.
Overall I'd visit again, but not for the claustrophobic!

“Check your shuttle bus tickets”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

The visit to Monet's garden was fabulous, but slightly marred by our return trip. We purchased round trip shuttle bus tickets for 4 people using exact change at 8 Euro per person on Aug 29. Unfortunately, the bus driver rang up 1 of the three tickets as one way only. This prints out on the back of the ticket. When we tried to board for the return, we had to buy a new ticket. It could have been an honest mistake, but we don't think so. Easy way to skim a few bucks here and there with no recourse for tourists.

“Lovingly Restored”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

A wonderful experience for anyone but especially so for a Monet or any Garden fan. We signed up for a half day trip from Paris and it was a lovely ride(about an hour) to the edge of Normandy where Monet's Gardens and home lie. It is said that Monet spotted the house on a train ride and you will pass through the small old town of Giverny en route to the home, also passing the Church where there is a graveyard that is Monet's resting place. At the house really a series of houses and small businesses you will park as buses and cars need to remain in a lot just below Monet's property. You will walk along some pathways before arriving at the entrance where the beautiful Gardens greet you in all their glory as you walk towards his home. The Gardens are a faithful reproduction of the original and the house itself is lovingly restored to Monet's taste and you will enjoy the colorful rooms. Leave plenty of time for the Gardens and visiting the little gift shop. The Japanese Gardens are across the street but well worth a visit - so pretty to see.

Reviewed 29 August 2014

something that you shouldn't miss if you are visiting Paris . Giverny is only half an hour from Paris, and is one of the most beautiful gardens in the world . It's really impressive. The most beautiful flowers all around you- and Japanese garden is amazing. Place for the admiration !
