“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

The B&B is lovely! My husband and I stayed in the blue room, which was quite clean and comfortable. There is another room located upstairs. Both rooms have private baths off the hall. The other room was occupied, so Sandrine dropped heavy curtains in the hallway to achieve more privacy between the rooms and bathrooms - very clever! Our friends stayed in the Barcarolle room, which was on the main floor. Their room had a bath, fireplace and large window overlooking the gardens in the back - lovely!

When visiting the House and Gardens of Claude Monet it is best to stay in the village and discover the spirit of Giverny. Sandrine's wonderful home is perfect for this as she goes out of her way to ensure that you experience the wonder of this lovely place. We stayed upstairs in the blue room and although the bathroom is not en-suite it is right next door and for your private use. I loved that she also provides a kettle for tea making. Stay two nights if you can and absorb the peaceful nature of this lovely place.

What a wonderful two night stay! The hostess is very helpful, without being intrusive. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. I am a clean freak and the rooms are spotless! The bathrooms are well stocked with towels, toiletries, etc. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and allowed for choice. The inn is well situated in Giverny. It is within comfortable walking distance of Monet's garden, the museum, restaurants and shops, but enough away from the hubbub you are not disturbed. Don't forget to check out the lovely gardens in the rear of the house.

Sandine speaks excellent English and responds quickly to all communications.

I wish we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: Misty faced the street, but was quiet. A perfect retreat for two.

We had a short stay and wished we could have spent another night. This really is a great find, the host Sandrine could not be more helpful. Her house and garden are really beautiful and perfectly situated in the wonderful village of Giverny.

The B&B has all the facilities needed with the added bonus of bikes and also Sandrine arranges tickets to the Monet house and gardens which is only a 5 minute walk away.

This B&B is very quaint with lovely garden. It is in great location for visiting Monet's gardens which are a very pleasant walk of about 15 minutes from the B&B. What made our stay exceptional was the wonderful person who runs the B&B, Sandrine. She is warm, amusing and went beyond the call of duty to ensure we were looked after. She made bookings for dinner for us, ensured that breakfast was available for us very early on our last morning so we could catch our plane, fed us beautiful cake one afternoon and then sent me the recipe, and helped us navigate our way back to the airport by printing off maps and giving us good advice. We felt like old friends by the time we left.

Our communication with Sandrin was very easy, VERY usefull and very warm.
Unfortunately we had only one night to spend there, during our Normandy tour.
We were two couples travelling, and we got the two upstair rooms, one next to the other. Very convenient - as we could pull a curtain to 'cut' the hall in two, to help keep our privacy as we walked in/out of our private spacious bathroom. The bed was comfortable, nice linen - very inviting.
The house preserves a 19th century atmosphere, and it is obvious Sandrin paid a lot of attention to details. Parking was on the street - apparently a standard in the little village of Giverny - even though the road is narrow, and bi-directional .-)
The breakfast was good - fresh orange juice (delicious), tea/coffee, jem, cereal, baguet & croissants, butter and cheese for spreading. Sandrin is attentif to your needs, and quickly comes to serve you...
All in all - a VERY pleasant place to stay. Thank you, Sandrin - we might be back for a longer tour...

We stopped overnight on our way from the Dordogne and what a wonderful experience. We were showing France to our Canadian friend and she thoroughly enjoyed (as we all did) our stay at Les Jardins d'Helene. We shared the family suite which is ideal for friends travelling together. We can only endorse everything that has been said preciously, the rooms, bathrooms, gardens and breakfast are all extremely good. The close proximity to Monet's Garden is an added bonus, we will certainly return. Thank you Sandrine.
