Believe me, the enthusiastic reviews do not exaggerate! Not only is the setting just about story-book perfect, but Helene is the most delightful innkeeper you may ever meet. We spent three nights in the yellow room, which overlooks the mill pond and horse pasture on one side and the old stables, stream, gardens, and orchard on the other. I can't top the descriptions others have written, so I'll simply close by saying "Look no further!"

Room Tip: The red room is considerably smaller, as is its bathroom, but still very comfortable and huge, by Fr...

It was a bit difficult to find but what a find it is! Driving the long drive to the house, you see sheep and horses. When you come to the house, you see gardens with weeping willow trees, hydrangeas, fuchsia trees, and so much beautiful vegetation with streams on both sides of the house. The area is so serene and almost mystical. Although Helene does not speak much English, she managed to help us with what we needed. We were starving after a long day at the Normandy beaches and it was too early to go to a restaurant to eat dinner so we opted to go to the store and purchase some food and eat outside where you can admire nature. She cleaned the table off for us and was most accommodating giving us plates, utensils, napkins, etc.

We stayed in the yellow room which was a nice size, simple in decor but it was squeaky clean. The windows on each side show magnificent views. I think every room has a spectacular view of the garden and pastures.

The living area has breathtakingly beautiful views. You can just sit there for hours and de stress.

Breakfast was scrumptious with Helene's homemade jams (rhubarb, pineapple, plum, strawberry, orange, apricot), lots of bread choices, an unbelievable pear tart with a custard bottom, homemade yoghurt and cheeses. Everything was just so delicious and presented in a simple but yet elegant way. The kitchen is awesome and the views are gorgeous. In the house every window you look out of has an amazing view.

It's approximately 35 minutes from Utah beach and about 15 minutes to Omaha beach. It's about 10 minutes from the center and historic town of Bayeux. Don't stay in the heart of Bayeux, you'd be missing the country French experience. Look no further, this place is perfect.

My family and i stayed at Moulin de hard in August at the start or our summer holiday. I chose it after reading trip advisor reviews and was not disappointed. We arrived a little early but Helene the owner welcomed us warmly. We stayed in the Blue family suite which was simply presented but classy and very clean. Our daughters had single beds in a separate room within the suite. The breakfast was delicious with fresh breads, cereals, fresh fruit and an amazing selection of home made jam but what made this place special is the building and it's grounds. We stayed for 3 nights and on 2 of those we had our evening meal on Helene's picnic tables rather than eat out.
The location is excellent, less than 5 minutes from Bayeux and many D-Day beaches and attractions within 15-30 minutes drive. A perfect start to our holiday.

We had such a good stay at this B & B for 5 days. We stayed in the blue room with the seperate bedroom for our son and there was lots of room. It is very peaceful and all you hear is the water sounds from the mill at the back. Breakfast was great every morning and Helene was so friendly and helpful with suggestions for our days plans. It was a 10 minute drive to Bayeux to go to restaurants but was ok as she let us know of a good central parking lot to park in so was not an issue. We would stay here again for sure. We used it as a base for D-Day beaches and Mont St Michel.

We spent 3 nights wtih Helene and had a wonderful time. Helene was wonderful and so was her house. The house is located just outside of Bayeux and close to the train station and the town center. The location is within 20-30 min drive to all Utah and Omaha beach heads and the town of Bayeux is a great place to visit in the day and at night. We would stay here again.

We spent 2 nights with Helene and were charmed by the beautiful peaceful setting she has crafted. The arched stone bridges over the stream that used to power the mill-now bed & breakfast- and flowers were so beautiful and charming that we brought back a picnic to enjoy our second night out at tables she had by the meadow. We loved her fruit tart in the morning, and she wrote out the recipe for us on the spot! She also gave us a cooking magazine from Normandy with recipes after we so clearly enjoyed a cooking class we took one day (on a farm about an hour away). We would go back here in a heartbeat - a unique, beautiful spot.

Room Tip: We stayed in her "best" room - with a small partial curtain of seashells dividing the sitt...

We just finished a 6-night stay in this wonderful B&B. The location just outside Bayeux is superb - close to town, to the historic sites, etc. while being quiet and beautiful. As others have said, Helene is a wonderful host. We had early tour starts our first two mornings there and she had coffee and breakfast early so we wouldn't go off hungry.

We stayed in the "Red Room" and enjoyed the spacious bedroom and bath.

It was warm and dry while we where there and we often had wine on the patio before heading back into town for dinner. Bayeux has a number of very good restaurants and Helene's recommendations were all very good.

Merci Mme. Fichot pour un merveilleux voyage.
