We were only in Honfleur for a few hours, so we had to make every moment count. We stopped into La Cidrerie for a taste of 3 culinary treats that Normandy is known for - cider, calvados and salt caramel. The cider is served in the traditional way - in wide-mouthed cups, not glasses - and it was delicious! Calvados is a cider distillate, but it retains almost no apple flavour at all - it's taste is closer to whiskey. And the caramel crepes were sinful - they didn't last long! Service was friendly and the charming atmosphere was woody and rustic. A nice place for a quick visit, easy to find along the main street.
