“Cider & calvados”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

We were only in Honfleur for a few hours, so we had to make every moment count. We stopped into La Cidrerie for a taste of 3 culinary treats that Normandy is known for - cider, calvados and salt caramel. The cider is served in the traditional way - in wide-mouthed cups, not glasses - and it was delicious! Calvados is a cider distillate, but it retains almost no apple flavour at all - it's taste is closer to whiskey. And the caramel crepes were sinful - they didn't last long! Service was friendly and the charming atmosphere was woody and rustic. A nice place for a quick visit, easy to find along the main street.

“Something different”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

La Cidrerie is set a little back from the road but a friendly cardboard cutout points the way. Fairly simple decor with lots of wood on show but some nice touches that show someone took great care about the way this looks. Children's drawings on the bar give the place a friendly family feel. Les Galettes (griddle cakes) area sort of savoury pancakes that you can have filled with ham, cheese etc. We selected a set menu which included cider from the barrel, a Galette and a sweet pancake. The staff were really lovely, helping us make our choices & making us feel very welcome. All very tasty & a pleasant way to spend lunch.

“excellent value and lovely service”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

We sat at the one table that is outside (in front of the restaurant). The price was comparatively low for a cider, a main-course crepe and a dessert crepe. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive and the food delicious.

“Causal Dining with Good Crepes and Galettes”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

The menu is pretty basic. Sweet and savory galettes and crepes. Because of that, they know what they are doing and they are really very good. They make them to order and practically right in front of you. This is a really casual place with no frills. It was the perfect place for me to have dinner alone when my traveling companion was not feeling well. It also seems like it would be family friendly. They also have a prefix menu which appeared to be a great value.
