“Cozy and charming”
Reviewed 9 January 2018 for a stay in December 2017

We had a great 5 day/4 night stay at Maison de Josephine. The cottage served us well (me, my husband, my sister and our 2 boys - 5 and 7 yrs. old). It was cozy and comfortable. Despite cold temps outside, the house warmed up nicely and we found ourselves actually turning down the heat towards the end. Kitchen was stocked enough to make dinner each night. Didn't get to enjoy the yard because of the rain, but it was sizable and looks fun for kids and pets. Very close to Honfleur, which we enjoyed very much, and an easy drive to Etretat (a must!), Trouville and some others that are all worth a visit. Aileen, the owner, was helpful and responsive, both leading up to the trip and during our stay. The bread, jam, butter and milk were a nice touch upon arrival.

“Charming, well equipped and comfortable cottage, perfect for couples and families.”
Reviewed 22 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We arrived to a beautifully clean and well thought out home from home. Welcoming touches like fresh bread, milk, cheese and butter. Conveniently located for Honfluer, supermarkets and D-Day beaches. The garden was great for boules and badminton and was nice and private. The owner was easy to contact and information pack provided was very helpful. Wi-Fi and phone signal were good, showers, oven dishwasher all clean and new.

“First class cottage”
Reviewed 16 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

A little bit more than 5 mins from Honfleur, this traditional house has been well modernised and is very fully equipped. Dishwasher, washing machine, decent charcoal barbeque. . Garden is dog proof if you fit the extra wood panels provided. Wifi etc, etc.

You need to be careful driving onto the (relatively busy road).
Honfleur is an active port , with plenty of cafes, restraunts etc. A good base to tour from in an area that is economically OK, rather than some towns further inland.

Overall, a very acceptable location to stay.

Sorry to hear that you were distributed by traffic noise during your stay at the cottage. The village of Fiquefleur has the equivalent to an 30mph speed limit through the village and during the week does have slightly more increased traffic at peak times e.g. breakfast and tea times.
The village of Fiquefleur is a very typical French village & is probably more a hamlet with just the church in the centre. The village does have lovely views over the valley and offers country walks up the hill to the back of the cottage with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
Thank you for bringing to our attention that you found the bed uncomfortable. The double bed is an antique bed and is part of the bed set of furniture in the large double bedroom. We have taken your comment on board and will be replacing the all the bed mattresses with new mattresses.
Your feedback regarding the TV, which is featured in the images and description of the cottage on Holiday Lettings that has French TV channels and a DVD player, it has not previously been a problem for guests staying at the cottage whom have appreciated their stay at the cottage as "having a getting away from it all stay". However, we do appreciate and value your feedback regarding this.
We do hope that you enjoyed your stay overall and that you will return to France, and Normandy in particular to continue to explore this beautiful region.

“Lovely Cottage, beautiful area”

We had a lovely time, the garden is beautiful and my two dogs loved it as it was safe and enclosed, the garden could do with some sun loungers as there was only one and there were four adults, the plastic chairs are not very comfortable and you can't really sunbathe on them.
The area is great for visiting Honfleur as it is only ten minutes away by car and is very beautiful, we had some lovely meals in there, but if you get the chance visit Café De Paris right on the front as the owner speaks very good English and is able to advise you on the menu.do not go to Christale as we ate there and the food was awful and the service terrible.
The only negative I have about the cottage is the busy road outside, that disturbed us very early each morning, but having said that it did not spoil our holiday, Aileen the owner is very helpful and helped us book a vets appointment for our dogs, however the information in the cottage is mostly in French and could do with updating, I would definitely go back
