We choose this modern hotel because we thought it would be comfortable , much attention was drawn to the comfortable beds which were indeed comfortable except for only 3 pillows provided for 2 people this seemed to be the standard as our friends had the same .Only 1 small very thin towel per person no good when washing your hair & showering . No air conditionong and it was seriously hot weather , nowhere to put our large suitcase (bench provided not adequate) The staff were alright just but nothing like we had experienced elsewhere in France when staff were welcoming , pleasant & anxious to help .Again breakfast was alright just , but a very small area for self serving guests & food mediocre .A good management structure could hugely improve this set up I felt they were penny pinching to extreme .It is 15 - 20 minutes walk to town on busy road but there is good pay parking in Honfleur so this was o'k .Good parking at the hotel with lifts to all floors .Sleep poor becuase it was so hot & you had to open the window which then let in all the traffic noise which kept us awake .No one asked us how we enjoyed our stay when we checked out .

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the hotel would be quieter .Don't stay there if weather is hot . Buy your b...

myself and a couple of friends booked a last minute stay at the Ibis styles Honfleur, booking direct on the Accorhotels website, we booked a 3 person room for approx £51.

The hotel (next door is the Mercure) is on the busy main road into Honfleur, ideally located opposite the bus station and a 3 minute walk to the harbour basin, cafes, restaurants etc. Note that the hotel does not have its own car park, though their is street parking outside, and a car park directly opposite (both pay parking). Their is a one car bay for disabled parking outside the door of The Mercure which is free to park.

The hotel has a breakfast room (breakfast charged separate) with small tables and low stools to sit on. Their are also vending machines in the lobby area, and a lift to all floors.

Check-in was fast , and the receptionist was very helpful regarding parking restrictions, check-out times etc. We were allocated a room on the 4th floor and given the code number for the door, as well as passwords etc for the free wifi.

The room was 'compact and bijou', with a window that both opened and tilted. Their was no air-conditioning unfortunately. Their was a double bed with single bunk over (hard mattresses) with duvet, pillow and sheet for each. A small hanging space next to the bed, a small wash hand-basin in the room (small soaps provided), tv on the wall, and a small wall shelf. Their was separate shower and toilet cubicles (like ones on aircraft) but no locks on those doors. Only two small towels were provided, and by the time we had got back to the lobby the reception was closed, and no one to ask for a third towel!! i am sure you have noted the use of the word 'small' to describe most things! It should be noted that the bunk over the double bed is really more suited to children or a small adult - not a 6' adult! None of us slept well - mainly due to the hot weather, but also the hard mattresses - but then some prefer a more firm bed than others.

I must say that the room was spotlessly clean, as was the hotel communal areas, hallways etc, and the staff we encountered were all very helpful and friendly.

The breakfast was approx 7-8 euros a person, which we pre-purchased at check-in. I think it is a little cheaper if you book breakfast at the time of reservation. Their was a good selection overall, incl croissants, bread for toast, brioche bread, yoghurts, cereal, cheese etc. Their was a fruit juice machine for apple and orange juice, and a coffee/tea machine with various options. It seemed that most of the guests had purchased breakfast, and the room was extremely busy. For the price the breakfast was fine. Breakfast finishes exactly at 10am - not a minute extra!

For the price and location it was ideal - especially compared to other options nearby. As they say - location location location. I have only marked this hotel as average due to the rooms being compact, the lack of towels for the number of guests, and the hard mattresses. I have stayed in other Ibis hotels, but this was the first time in an Ibis style. Otherwise the hotel was fine for a 1 or 2 night stop.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the back of the hotel - as the front rooms overlook the main busy road into Ho...

For a budget hotel this place is brilliant. Five minutes walk from the main harbour area with lots of restaurants. It is simple and clean. Price wise I couldn't have asked for more. Car parking in public car par is currently 14 euro for 24 hours.
