“A charming, tiny gite in the heart of old Honfleur”

This tiny gite for two is at the end of the garden of the owners and comprises a kitchen/diner, conservatory/living room on the ground floor. Steep stairs from the kitchen rise to a low-beamed bedroom bin the eaves with bathroom adjoining, with an excellent powerful shower in a tiny cubicle. It is cosy, well equipped with crockery and cutlery, and has a lovely charm - views over the rooftops from the bedroom - all give it a rustic feel. The decoration is a little "tired" - particularly in the bathroom and although clean in the main areas, there is a little deep down cleaning that could be done on light fittings, shower head, kitchen sink etc. The accommodation has the benefit of a dishwasher and washing machine (but no drier, which in winter months means that you have to have clothes draped all over the place as there is no drying frame or clothes horse). Martine and her husband are delightful, friendly and helpful. We were also visited by a charming cat! The pictures shown of the property are a little misleading as the gite is at the back of the owners' garage, not really in the middle of the garden.

“fabulous, peaceful oasis just 3 minute stroll to the harbour”

Stayed in the cottage this past weekend and had a wonderful time; the cottage is really stylish but very comfortable with all you could want for your stay. Sitting in the garden was a delight with wonderful full borders of flowers, trees with lanterns and a lovely pond with running water and was so quiet and restful at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Honfleur itself is very pretty and well placed to visit Deauville, D day beaches and the military cemeteries. There are plentiful restaurants including a 2 star Michelin restaurant (we didn't eat here though)
We were warmly greeted and were left a bottle of local cider and other goodies as well as the basics such as fresh milk and by check out we were treated as friends despite not really having spent more than a few minutes with the owners as we were out and about so much.
The bed was comfy and the linens clean and pretty - I now want to redecorate my bedroom as a result!
Parking is not on site but very close by and free.
There was a washing machine with detergent.
There were also bikes for use but with those hills we stuck with walking!
