We stayed at Hotel Monet for 2 evenings in October 2013. The hotel is conveniently located a 10 minute walk from Vieux bassin cafe and restaurants. Enjoyed walking up and down the short hill with superb views. Situated very close to the trail leading up to the enchanting Chapelle Cote de Grace with even better views. Helpful owners, good breakfast, free parking in an enclosed area, just outside the door to your room. Good bang for buck, be hard pressed to find better value close to the downtown.

The room was nicely and very clean with comfortable bed, small terace in front of the room. Some good advice on the city and the restaurant by the owner, we had a great weekend in this charming hotel. Certainly we will be back for another staying

My husband and I spend 2 nights at Hotel Monet in Honfleur in September 2013 and really enjoyed it. The location was out of the center of all the hubbub, but worked well in that parking was readily available most of the time and if not, the owners helped us find a safe and free spot. We could walk right into the heart of the city in 10 minutes and leave our car parked where it was.

While the hotel looked like an old motor lodge, it was really quite a lovely surprise inside our room! I suppose all the rooms had been remodeled, as ours was, with a queen size bed, 2 chairs and a table, and lovely additional furniture that matched the waterside setting of Honfleur. The bathroom was quite large and offered shelves and other amenities that I look for when traveling. We had a full bathtub with a shower and again the bathroom was decorated with those little touches that help a hotel room feel like home for a while.

The owners were lovely and very helpful. We had their breakfast one morning and it was very good and a good value. While we wanted to try other places for breakfast, it really isn't worth it. For what you pay, so much more was offered at the hotel breakfasts, than what you get for a Petite Dejeuner at a bar. Unless you just want a cafe....

This was a recommended hotel by Rick Steves and I concur...easy to get out of town as well if you are exploring other parts of Normandy, as we did.

We stayed here because of a Rick Steves' recommendation and we are glad we did. It is a great value and the owners are very caring and professional. The rooms vary in size and age it looks like so ask for the choices before you book. Parking is located on the property which is a benefit in this town. Make some time to walk up to the Cote de Grace area on the bluff above the hotel. It is great exercise, the views of the city are magnificent, the houses and land is awesome, there is a polo field there and you will find a most unique little church that dates back to the 11th C there.

Hotel Monet sits high on a hill overlooking Honfleur and is about a 10 minutes walk to city center, and about a 15 minute walk back. Our room was upstairs and had a sitting area with comfortable chairs and table. It was well appointed, clean and nicely decorated. The owners were very accomodating, providing us with suggestions about what to see and do, including making reservations for us at Cote Resto, a restaurant definitely worth visiting. We didn't have breakfast there as we wanted to get on the road, but it is offered in advance. The other residences are in town and we didn't want the noise or troubles parking. Hotel Monet is also a certifiable bargain and we highly recommend it.

Room Tip: All 3 second floor rooms are quiet and have a deck or porch with furniture

We worked out that this was our seventh stay in ten years or so, so we must enjoy it!

Sylvie and her man (never did catch his name) made us so welcome, again. This is a modest B&B, a motel really, but we can't fault it. Clean bedroom, nice little bathroom with bath and shower, large comfortable bed and parking outside your door (if you get there first! Otherwise immediately outside are reserved spaces on the road. You also haved your own little drinks area with table and chairs right outside the door.

An easy walk down to the town (but a bit harder coming back up the hill); plenty of restaurants to choose from (The Tortoise was the best we found) and loads to do and see - Normandy beaches, Bayeux tapestry, Lisieux and its Basilica, Cliffs at Etretart: in Honfleur itself, the many artists and their galleries, the harbour, the chapel up at the Cote du Grace and the view from there over to Le Havre. You can go on.

Breakfasts are simple, fresh bread and croissants etc but plenty and service all round is excellent.

This place is superb and we shall go back again and again.

Thanks

David and Ann

Can confirm all of the positive comments already posted. Great position, very helpful and friendly, decent size room with large bathroom and plenty of shelving to put things down, hairdryer, very clean, comfortable bed and very quiet even though our "motel" type room with tiny patio and chairs backed onto the road. Good parking & offered to lock up our bikes in the garage. Perhaps some of the paintwork needed refreshing in the room but this is a minor point. Good value and enjoyed our stay of 2 nights.
