The Place du Vieux-Marche, literally the ancient market square, is a picturesque old marketplace in the old town of Rouen. To the southern side are various café bars and restaurants, and also a couple of museums, with attractively coloured half-timbered buildings dominating that side of the square.
To the east is the Rue de Grande Horloge, while the northern side of the square is dominated by the spectacular modern Church of Joan of Arc, constructed on the site where she was burned for heresy, and reviewed by me on a separate page.
