We randomly came across this little typical chinese restaurant. The noodle soup with its hand-made pasta is delicious! We also tried the dumplings which are to die for. If you are visiting Rouen and tired of Bistros, I would recommend eating here.

Having lived and worked in China I miss the fantastic food that is available there especially when the offerings found in Chinese restaurants around the world have been westernised to the point of blandness and sameness.
Ho Lamian however has retained the traditional but limited dishes with jaozi (steamed dumplings) their specialty.
These are handmade on site and taste just how they do in the middle kingdom.
Over two visits we tried the dumplings, soups and duck and all had that traditional flavour.
The place is tiny, locals pack the 6 or so tables, the owner makes all the noodles by hand, and the price is very good with a servings from around €7.

I went to this little restaurant with a friend for lunch. We were lucky that we were seated right away because this restaurant is very small with not a lot of tables. We both had soup. We had the shrimp dumplings in a curry broth. I really liked mine although it is a little on the spicy side. The place is nothing fancy and it is a tight squeeze inside but I would recommend this place! Next time I go I want to try the stir fry noodles, they look good as well!
