When visiting Rouen (France) with friends, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel where the people are very kind.
Only too bad there is no restaurant, but near by you can have a nice meal at Au Bureau, along the river the Seine: good food for a reasonable price with very kind service.

This is a modern hotel that is ideal for families or business travelers, especially on extended stays. It is equipped with a microwave and moderately sized refrigerator as well as a table and seating. This allowed for in-room meals and ample room for computer and paperwork. There is a 24 hour work-out facility and it is just across the street from the jogging/walking path along the Seine River - very nice place to work out or just stroll! Staff was friendly, cooperative and helpful. The hotel is right on the tram line which helps off-set not being in the old city center and its attractions (it is two stops or a 15 minute walk from the center).

I slept in this hotel during different job weeks in Rouen.
The hotel is super, very large rooms always perfectly clean.
It could be perfect also for couples.
The wifii is not so powerful, but in each room there is film on demand in a lot of languages.
I haven't tried the breakfast.

We are a family of four and enjoyed our stay in the family room (one double and two twins). Bathrooms/closets were a bit odd (felt kind of like modular pre-fabs), but everything was clean and comfortable, and price was fair. Location was ok; bit of a hike to main tourist area, but walk along river was pleasant. Can definitely recommend.

The Novotel was quite good. Nice beds and bathroom. But it wasnt really a suite and was rather a large room with a separator blind separating the main bed from the two singles. Good view of the Seine from the room.

They provided a baby cot bed on request. Would have been nicer if they had installed it in the room but cant complain.

The main problem was that wwe reached in the middle of the night at 1AM and parking was full. had to park on the street and come out first thing in the morning to move the car before the police arrived. Guy in reception didnt speak much english and I had to speak in my broken French to explain things.

A 20 min walk from the City centre if you dont have a car.

Room Tip: Choose a room with the view of the Seine.

The suite Novotel is a great place to stay, very easy to drive to. Parking would have been 10 Euro's for the night, but we had a roof box on meaning the car would not fit in the underground car park, so we were invited to park in the coach bay at the front which was free.
Room was spacious with lots of facilities. Great layout, having the separate toilet at one side and the bathroom in the middle. Nice to have a separate bath and Shower in the bathroom. The kitchenette is not really, but has a fridge, kettle, microwave and small sink. Tea and coffee provided, along with a posh coffee machine as well near the desk. TV with internet (free), free movies etc, and ample channels.
We had a corner room, overlooking the Seine and Rouen city Centre, so the windows were huge and it was a great view on the 4th floor.
Breakfast was fine, prob not worth the 15 Euro's each, but ours was a B & B basis so fine, plenty to choose from on the continental breakfast.
No dining facilities, if you are desperate and cannot get out, you can pay a fortune for a ready meal out of a vending machine, but within 5 mins walk we had a choice of a couple of brasserie's on the Quayside. We chose the sports bar, as it had a great fish selection on the menu.

So, the couple of issues??? Even though we put that our baby was less than 1 on the booking form, they did not give us a cot, just made the 3rd bed up (Unlike the Novotel Rouen Sud which had a cot ready made up for us). Upon asking, I was given 1 which was faulty, the side bars would not lock. Was then given the last remaining cot, and this was also faulty so we had to bodge it and prop the 1 side that would not lock.

Second issue, it was VERY hot in the room, but their heating system is either, heating for 6 months, or air con for 6 months. It was still 10 days till it was changed in the hotel to air con. We were asked to open the window, but it had already been open for 2 hours since arriving. As we had a baby, we carried a thermometer to measure the room temp and it was just under 27C at 9pm.

Having said that, we slept well in the end, and it is a great hotel that we would definately go back to.

Room Tip: Go for the premium rooms on the higher floors, great views!!
