We stayed as a couple for a week in early August. This is our fourth visit to La Baule and the first time we've stayed at Ty Gwenn, which we only discovered because the hotel we usually stay at was full. If we come back to La Baule, we'll definitely book into Ty Gwenn. We had room 7, which turned out to be a small ground floor apartment, with bedroom, galley kitchen and bathroom (shower only), and a small lounge area just wide enough for a sofa, TV and a table and two chairs. Most important, though, was a private outdoor seating area, with a table, three chairs and a parasol. Paradise! We did pay extra for this but we spent hours out here, so it was worth every penny.
Breakfast is a selection of bread and French pastries - the croissants were really nice - as well as the usual assortment of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts. There was also tea, coffee and orange juice, and the proprietor was happy to make a hot chocolate each morning for my husband. He was always very friendly and couldn't do ehough for you. There is also a handsome ginger cat who sits on the bar at Reception and will permit you to stroke him if you are very lucky. He doesn't seem to go into the rooms: I'm allergic to cats and had no problem at all.
The hotel is also only five minutes walk from the beach. We had an absolutely lovely time here - highly recommended!
