“Perfect cottage in idyllic location to just chill yet so close to the best of the Loire Valley.”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Comfortable, cosy, romantic cottage with every facility for a couple wanting to relax and visit the beautiful Loire Valley. Sit outside basking in warm sunshine sipping wine recommended by Sarah Jane & Gerard, stored in their troglodyte cave.
Go and visit wonderful chateaux, abbeys or villages and re-discover the pleasure of driving on quiet, smooth, well sign posted country roads , the like of I haven't seen in England for many years. Immerse yourself in French culture and soak up the breath taking landscapes as you travel.
Our hosts were wonderful and on hand for help or advice if needed but not intrusive. Sarah Jane enjoys her gardening and the results of her efforts are a delight to behold. Their home and the cottage are gorgeous and merge traditional village architecture with all mod-cons. Both french and english dvds, many very recent were handy for the evenings to enjoy.
We would like to thank Sarah Jane and Gerard for a wonderful week in the Loire valley that we will treasure forever.

“Beautiful home, wonderful hosts and unforgettable stay”
Reviewed 16 May 2015 for a stay in March 2015

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Annie's house in March 2015 for three nights. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend the house for any couple or family looking to explore the Loire Valley.

Sarah-Jane and Gerald are wonderful hosts who were more than happy to recommend restaurants in the area, answer our questions about nearby chateaux, and discuss their favorite vineyards in the region (of which there are many to choose from!). We also made the wise choice of having Gerald cook for us one night -- the duck confit he prepared was probably the best we ever had! They also have a diverse wine list, and it was fun sampling the wines throughout our stay.

The house itself is spacious, comfortable and absolutely beautiful. Though we only had time to stay for several nights, we would have easily stayed longer if we could have. The house is close to some major chateaux in the region, and a very manageable drive to the renowned Chennonceau and Chambord (well worth the visit!).

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this rental without reservations.

“Beautiful Gîte”
Reviewed 9 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This was our fifth year staying in this beautiful gîte. Set in a quiet village location it is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. Located next to the owners house it makes an ideal holiday base to explore the Loire Valley, which has endless delights. The owners Sarah-Jane and Gerald are wonderful hosts and their primary concern is your comfort and enjoyment for the duration of your stay with them. The gîte is beautifully presented and immaculately clean. I would highly recommend this gîte. We will definitely be visiting next year making it our sixth visit.

“Idillyc and Restful”
Reviewed 9 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at Annie's house. It was adequately equipped and immaculately presented and yes the stairs are steep but this did not present a problem although would preclude anyone with a real handicap. The owners were charming and very helpful whilst being respectful of privacy. The location was a little more cramped than we had been lead to believe but, once again this was not a problem. Overall a delightful experience which can be highly recommended and which we would be more than happy to repeat. The only drawback was the very erratic access to the Internet for those who cannot live without modern technology although this problem is in hand.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 15 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Annies House has everything you need for a romantic and comfortable holiday. We like to cook in the evening and the kitchen is well equipped with a full size cooker and oven. The hosts are extremely welcoming and provided lots of local information on places to visit. Sarah-Jane booked our bistrot reservation for us and even passed on information about what wine we enjoyed so we received a very personal touch!
The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom great and everywhere was spotless. We had a choice of 2 patios with table and chairs so we could move with the sun. Wine recommendations from Gerald should definitely inform your purchases!
Location is great for exploring the Loire and we'd certainly stay there again. The photos on the booking site did not do justice to the beauty of 'La Bellevue'

“Arrive as guests and leave as friends”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were impressed with the descriptions and photos of Annie's House and were not disappointed on arrival. Set in the grounds of the owner's house with well tended gardens and fascinating caves, this is a quiet retreat to unwind, as well as a convenient base to explore the area. Sarah-Jane and Gerald ensure that guests are made welcome and comfortable. They have a good knowledge of local wine and food- the recommendations for wines and the local boucherie were well used. Like Sarah-Jane we are now hooked on rillettes d'oie - the best we have tasted. We were only here for a week that went quickly but left with the feeling that we were leaving new friends behind.

“Simply stunning”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We have just returned from Annies House and have had a fantastic time, made possible by a lovely ( English ) hostess.
We was made to feel very welcome by Sarah-Jane and given the keys to a beautiful gite and shown around the property, we had some fantastic weather, so to be staying in a stone property was most welcome as it was lovely and cool.
The gardens are also very private behind secure gates and covered in stunning bloom.

Perfect location in an idyllic village was a welcome bonus as we wanted a total break from busy work schedule .

Wine tasting in the area resulted in a full car on our return home and a love of French wine, although I never thought I would say that !!!

Thanks again Sarah and Gerald hope to see you again in the near future,
