Saumur was ok, the views were good but much prefer chateaux breze which has caves and interesting museum. A lot of scaffolding up at time of visit. Horse display is worth seeing.

“Good views at the top”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We had to leave the pram at the ticket office which I wasn't sure about at first but we weren't the only ones. Taking an 11 month old round a chateau without a pram is a little daunting but there are some steep steps which you would struggle to negotiate with a pram. The chateau wasn't the most interesting for the adults so I think the kids enjoyed it less however the view at the top is worth it and all, including the kids, picked up a little more interest.
There is a winery at the chateau which sells their own wines, they are very good quality.

“Nice Castle, too few to visit”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

Due to danger of falling stones, only a part of the castle is open to public. A bit disappointing, worth the visit though.
Nice views from the castle to the Loire Valley.

“It is on the doorstep. You have to go here if in Saumur!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Great views across the Loire. The humorous horse/jousting event was a little on the amatuer side but fun anyway.
