This is a very nice tour of a winery and the caves. Lovely place to go on a hot day! I learned a few things about wine production, and you probably will too. Lots of samples at the end, with a paper so you can mark the ones you liked. Admission is 5 euro per person.

“Very interesting and informative!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2013

We contacted the Langlois-Chateau via email and asked for a visit of the caves, and explained that none of the three of us spoke much French. We couldn't have been better taken care of! Our guide spoke excellent English and was very cordial. We were given a quick lesson in the process of making wine, with good explanations of how white, red, and sparkling wines are made. This was followed by a visit to the caves and a view of the entire process--very interesting! We ended our tour with a nice wine-tasting. My daughter and husband both are in agreement with me that this is the tour to take when in Saumur if you're wanting a tour that is comprehensive and enjoyable. We all hope to return someday!

“Long live Langlois Chateau!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2013

In my opinion, and having sampled a wide range of competitors' wines, this is the top winery for the region. The Saumur Champigny 2010 is by far the best we have come across and the Vieille vigne 2009 is outstanding. We love visiting and chatting to the delightful and very helpful staff who really seem to take a pride in their product. We will be back there in March and August to re stock.
