Discovered this gem of a restaurant by accident as it is situated up a little side street & currently the church is having renovations done so it obscures the entrance.
The menu is really good, plenty of choice but the clincher was the menu of the day, 3 courses for €14,80.
We were so impressed we went twice!
I would love to go back in summer once the church renovations have finished because I think it would be lovely.
Great atmosphere, fantastic service & delicious food - does it get any better?

A lovely spot to grab a coffee and crepe and watch the world go buy, especially on Saturday after a morning exploring the Saumur market.

The savoury crepes are particular noteworthy!

We were dismayed when we turned up to eat lunch after the Saturday market as we do each year, only to find the Creperie has lost its outside space as they are doing work on the Church. We decided to eat inside and although it was fine, it made me realise that the real charm is the sitting in the square outside. They couldn't say when it would be all finished. There is a bistrot next door where you can sit out in the square though.

Tucked away down a narrow alleyway beside St Pierre church it was the blackboard menu that caught our eye;
A dinner menu made from local ingredients such as Saumur mushrooms topped with rochefort plus dishes including Nordic seafood and locally sourced and cooked absolutely delicious deserts. Three courses for just €14, even less for lunch.

We just had to give it a go and we were so glad we did as it was all delicious, including the pichet of local Rosé and a local digestive and coffee all for €45

We noticed other diners (all French) also weren't bothering with crepes either.
And who could blame them?

It was the third fantastic French meal in three nights in Saumur (but the first two restaurants arent in the tripadvisor list so we cannot give our opinions.
