This is a highly specialised museum. It tells you all about how to grow mushrooms. It covers many commercial mushrooms and shows the passion for mushrooms. It takes about 1 hour as it is a big cave. When in summer remember that it is a bit chilly and very humid in the cave.

This is exactly what it says... a mushroom museum, i found it very interesting, seeing all the different types, learning which are edible and which are not. Then viewing the actual mushrooms growing. While not the most exciting or jaw dropping thing you will do in the region, it is definitely worth a trip to see the other product the region is famous for!

A bit pricey but quite interesting to see all the mushrooms growing. Little coffee area with tastings and good hot chocolate.

I seriously don’t understand the negative comments about this place, because I loved it!... on a hot day in Saumur being in the caves was a welcome break from the hat I learnt a lot about mushrooms & already knew quite a bit. It was educational & interesting. The staff were lovely & very helpful…. They know their mushrooms!!. I bought some amazing mushrooms there & cooked up a very fine mushroom risotto that evening. My sister is visiting next month & I’ll definitely be back, it’s a brilliant place & as a vegetarian I'm hooked!!....
