Lovely annexe family room consisting of one double and single bed with all mod cons in the room. Very modern and tastefully decorated lovely the slim double doors and shutters. The pool is lovely and was most appreciated after a hot July day cycling on the Loire.
A visit to Saumur is a must, find the Steak House for wonderful service and mouthwatering steak! My 6 year old would eat his rare steak every night there if he could!!
Ideal for a stopover when heading further into France or on return, much more pleasant than the travelodge style stopovers! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and stay again!

This old house with numerous outbuildings made into bedrooms and the large adjoining restaurant and banqueting facility is certainly making a go of things and with a bit of attention to detail and better management maybe able to justify the pricing and level of pretentinous. I had a suite, 36, which as in an extension of main house consisting of a large bedroom with a double and a day bed, a small double room and a shower room. All perfectly clean. Bathroom made up of mismatched sanitary ware, broken shower hose, window in full view of passing guests. Hopeless bedside lights. Dinner was promising but let down by a function being held that diverted the attention of the chef which meant tepid food served on a cold plate and vanishing waiting staff. Got bored of waiting for coffee or being bade goodnight so took my glass of wine and headed back to my suite. Didn't bother with breakfast which was being served in a stark looking room with horrid pine furniture. Upon arrival you have to alert staff by means of the telephone situated on the abandonded reception desk. Okay for one night and let's you enjoy this style of establishment that was so common in France a decade or so ago but now most have either upped their game or gone bust.

Stayed one night on a rainy day. Located near Saumur.
Nice pond and historic house.
Good service.
We had the suite junior en Chapelle. It was not convivial at all. We had our stuff all around the table in the main room, because there was no room in the washroom.
The sofa is actualy a bed box with a few cushions. The room upstairs, was OK.
No minifridge.
The wifi worked very well.
Two friendly dogs come greet you in the morning.
Good breakfast.

If you cannot find something in the city, this hotel presents an alternative. The building and surroundings are nice, staff is friendly. Our room was in what once was a stable, I believe. Equipment was okay, but a little "potpourri".

If you stay, DO NOT stay in one of those gipsy carriages, unless you really want to experience something different.

Domaine de Presle is an ideal base when visiting the Loire region, the rooms are comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is outstanding; the menu is excellent and the staff very attentive, we were so impressed we booked a table on two consecutive nights.

We loved the large family suite, with its stone walls and four poster bed - full of 17th century charm. The service was warm and friendly, and despite the fact that we had gloomy weather, the place made our experience cheerful. Great value. And nearby Saumur has everything a tourist could want from troglodytes and caves to wineries and a stunning castle.

We stayed one night in this family run hotel on our drive back through France to Brittany Ferries at Caen. The welcome from the owner was very friendly and our suite room in the Chateaux very comfortable indeed with an amazing bathroom in the tower. Dinner was exceptional. The setting and grounds were delightful despite being very close to the main road and only a short drive into Saumur centre. Don't expect room fridges or brand new decorations etc but a lovely atmosphere.

Room Tip: We loved our room on the second floor with the bathroom in the tower. I did not see any others as al...
