We thought this would be a fun (perhaps somewhat "touristy") way of spending 50 minutes in Saumur but weren't really expecting anything too special. However, by the end of the (generous) 50 minutes we felt we had seen Saumur from a different angle, while having an information-rich tour. Timothee was our host for the trip and he guided us as we went down the river, in French and English, pointing out the wildlife, the architecture and buildings, and the other craft on the river - having first handed out sets of binoculars. Then, to cap it all, we were treated to a glass of sparkling wine and a local biscuit (syrup for the children) on the way back. Excellent!
