Really nice small hotel overlooking the beach. We had a sea view room with its own terrace and rattan chairs for relaxing and enjoying the sunset. The room was spacious and furnished with taste, had all the usual comforts and the bathroom was lovely with an amazing shower.
The staff and owner were very friendly and gave us great tips on what to do and where to eat during our stay. Loved it and do recommend it.

As 2 friends we turned up when the unstoppable and unprecedented rains over Buenos Aires and Uruguay had finally stopped in February 2014- so we were lucky and found a lovely downstairs room without a booking. We enjoyed the place - comfortable beds with a peek at the sea, easy walking to the amusements of the village- (lovely beaches, mainly good restaurants, a few shops and even a concert ) We were well looked after - even a beach bag with towels in it to take to the sea. Friendly service and a great breakfast. We managed to enjoy the garden too.

Room Tip: No fitness centre - ! We stayed for 3 nights and that was perfect

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations in La Pedrera. This boutique hotel is ideally situated within two blocks of the sand and just one block from the main road of town. Some highlights: The customer service from the front desk to kitchen was first class, the rooms were modern and always clean, the morning complimentary breakfast was delicious, the interior garden was serene and welcoming for anyone that wanted to relax, and the hotel balcony had a perfect view of the waves breaking on the point. The rooms were truly Zen and one of our favorite stops in Uruguay!

Room Tip: Choose the upper level Zen Rooms with private balcony!

We (my daughter and I) recently stayed at this hotel and we were given a discount for the top floor corner room ($250 per night) which everybody raves about. It was a three night treat as part of a South American trip. It was a lovely roomy space, with good views overlooking the town and the beach. Lots of terrace space with room for sun beds and cushions but there were none. The hotel is quite sparsely furnished in mostly retro finds, - some of which are not in great condition. It has a nice relaxing feel to it. The service is fine at breakfast with one very nice gentleman serving and sometimes assisted by the owner or receptionist. Good breakfast, - particularly delicious the orange juice and bread. It rained so it was nice to have a large room to sit in and the hotel did its best to find us umbrellas but there are very few relaxing seats in the open space that houses the reception and breakfast dining area. In our opinion this hotel falls short in several areas. As very attractive B and B accommodation it would be fine and I would give it five stars but it does not have a maned bar to hang out in with comfy seats nor a restaurant if you want to chill out in the hotel or most of the comforts one associates with a good hotel. It really is only a very nice B and B and charges way too much for the rooms.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Everything about our experience was charming and delightful. Laura, the owner and host goes out of her way to make certain your needs are met. We especially enjoyed speaking with her. Although we were about a week early(some restaurants were still closed) our stay in La Pedera was a positive experience and we would certainly recommend it and Brisas Boutique Hotel.

We just got back from a trip to Uruguay with the few nights we stayed at this hotel being one of the highlights of the trip.

Rooms are spacious and appointed well (chairs, comfortable bed/bedding, large shower, robes, comfortable deck chairs, free wifi). The locations is spectacular, steps from the beach. We were there in late November (over US Thanksgiving time) and stayed midweek so it wasn't crowded at all. We practically had the beach to ourselves for miles. I understand the weekends get filled up more (we were there midweek - which if you can do this town midweek, much better as it's truly quiet).

It's a small town (no traffic lights, barely paved streets, unique houses) and is what I imagine Cardiff-by-the-Sea outside of San Diego, must have been like about 50-60 years ago. it's just peaceful and relaxing.

Breakfast every day include fresh squeezed orange juice (delicious), fruit, and breakfast breads. We had it one day in the dining room & another day on the sun deck in the garden area.

Several day-trip or 1/2 day trip sights to check out - including 2 parks (once that apparently has an island with penguins & sea lions, though we didn't make it there).

Laura, the proprietor, was extremely friendly & gave us great recommendations. Our drive back to MVD was using the route she recommended & made for a wonderful drive back.

Great time - would stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: We went with the Zen room. Book directly with Laura on their website. Children aren't allowed...

This is just the place if you want to let go of any stress, I instantly feel relaxed whenever I go here, simple elegant rooms, wonderful beds, breathtaking views of the bay. A wonderful, calm, romantic place to enjoy with someone you care about.

Room Tip: Zen master at the corner of the hotel is worth the extra charge
