Great location, beautiful old building, fantastic gardens. Our only slight let down was the bed that was quite small for a double and a bit of a U Bend. English speaking host, outside pool, Petanque on demand. An excellent choice for a truly french flavour just outside of Cognac.

Friendly staff, great food (i.e. dinner, breakfast is french but staff will listen to personal requests), fantastic selection in cognac bar, perfect location with a short walk to city centre and still very quiet in garden, very nice garden with swimming pool. Not high fashion hotel, but true to the history of the place. Makes me feel like home.

From an American POV, Domaine du Brueil may come off as quirky to some American travelers - light switches to turn on lights in the hallway, leaving your keys at the desk when you leave, separate room for the toilet, etc. That said, this is a beautiful property. The size of the rooms vary, but they are still handsome and well appointed. The people who manage the hotel do speak english and they make a pretty excellent breakfast in the morning. Oh, and the bar. The bar is handsome and is a fun spot to try a lot of the cognacs that we don't get in the US.

the location is a villa in apark absoltely beautiful.
very quiet, parking for the car inside the property. the keepers do speak english and are very kind.
nice rooms, ours were the classic ones and a bit small, but perfect. sleeping is very quiet being in the middle of a small park in the very neibourhoods of the centre ville of Cognac.the dinner is good although the time waitnig for it should be shortened. they have a good Cremant wine to drink which is pleasant, Nice aperò de la maison, the cognac by glass arefar too expensive being in the land of cognac!!!
breakfast is chamant both for the quality and for the panorama overlooking the beautiful garden.

It's a wonderful place to look at, with great cognac bar. The property is simply fantastic itself. Anyway, inside it is well funished 3* hotel. I heard bad cough from some other room as well as the poor guy was near me. Also, some people say it is 15 minutes walk from downtown. Maybe, I didn't try, but my car odometer said it was 3 km. A very quick walk it must be.
