“A delightful museum/art gallery”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

This was a very pleasant building with ancient bits and pieces in display cabinets on the ground floor, but when you go upstairs there is a delightful collection of paintings from the 16th century to the 20th century. Certainly worthwhile.

“Very good museum”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

In a spectacular site in the middle of the old town, this museum takes you from the wines to the marketing of Cognac all over the world. Fascinating product and very well designed museum.

“Small, eclectic, beaux arts museum”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

This is a small museum with a smattering of everything from Neolithic flakes, stone tools, bronze age implements to pottery, Lalique and Gallé vases to a wide range of paintings from different periods, to some modern art. There are a few pieces which catch the eye but there many much that are not the best examples of their genre. Worth a visit on a rainy day or to pass the time if you're waiting for a tour opening.

“interesting introduction”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

A good value and interesting museum as others have noted and the headsets that automatically translate videos are brilliant. However many exhibits especially the videos, seem to start in the middle of the cognac making process without setting the scene sufficiently for the untutored to get the whole picture. The final video does a better job of this and might work better earlier in the museum.

“A gem of a museum - great value!”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

This museum is a real bargain, and a must if you wan to learn more about the process if making and selling cognac. Entrance to the, we'll designed stylish museum is just over €4, you are provided with a set of head phones that automatically translate any film from French to English. The museum also Ames you through an history of cognac bottle design and advertising. There is also a super side room which shows film clips that mention cognac and book mark key pages in novels that mention cognac. We were impressed.
