Was not easy to find but worth it. Perhaps could do with better signage inside too. Took lots of photos.

This German bunker was housed under a hotel in La Rochelle, so it looks like an entrance to a building on a regular street. Once inside it is amazing to see how they used this facility. Most of Europe has interesting WW2 museums etc. and this is just another example. It is a short tour and worth checking out if in La Rochelle. They have an English translation book, so just ask when you pay the entrance fee. However, we did feel most of the displays had English descriptions. One note, watch your head the doorways are low and made out of solid concrete.

Thank yarny

This was a very interesting back to the history of WW2 - the headquarters of part of the German submarine war in the Atlantic. Well worth a visit

In the heart of La Rochelle, this bunker recreates perfectly the living conditions of the admiralty hiding quarters during the WW2 bombings.

Short visit with many military and civilian war artefacts and an interesting display explaining the destruction of the German submarine construction bases around the coast.

For the WWII amateurs.
Not recommended for people suffering from claustrophobia.
