We spent 24 hrs in Poitiers and had an excellent stay. Part of this is due to the great locaction of this hotel. We walked all around the old cask using a map handed to is by the attendant at the front desk who spoke perfect English. The best restaurant in town is just across from the hotel and it is open 7/7 starting at noon. Breakfast wasn't included and we padi an additional 12€ for each. Complementary coffee and tea in the room.

Room Tip: We padi an additional 10€ for a slightly bigger room. It was worth it! Poor toiletries, if hung up on Haití, bring your own.

Located on in the historic center, opening onto a quiet courtyard, within comfortable walking distance of the major monuments. An older hotel, taken over by Best Western and brought up to their standard which is very comfortable and yet still moderate in price. Definitely a cut above an Ibis (though I am also a frequent Ibis customer, and like them in general) in terms of room size, amenities and the quality of the breakfast, which was exceptional. Those of us who remember the good old days when hot drinks were made individually for each breakfast table by an attentive host(ess) will appreciate this holdover from an earlier age: no nasty machine-made coffee. The buffet assortment is not particularly large (though more than adequate) BUT the staff will also make eggs (scrambled, boiled or fried) on request. In good weather breakfast can be taken on an outdoor terrace. The hostess on duty in the breakfast room when we were there was exceptionally warm and pleasant, and kept the hot coffee and milk coming. The desk staff gave us an excellent dinner recommendation (it was a Sunday night and many restaurants were closed). Parking can be found either in the hotel parking garage or in the public garage next door which was very inexpensive for an overnight stay. One warning: be sure you come prepared with a good map of the inner town or a GPS because the approach to the hotel via the city streets is complicated by pedestrian zones, train tracks, hilly topography and one-way streets. However both the city and the hotel are well worth the trouble. Highly recommended!

Love this hotel. Well updated, everything comfortable and convenient. On the edge of the pedestrian zone in central Poitiers: everything easily accessible. The #1 restaurant in the city is right across the street (du Boucher), the staff will call taxis and provide tourist advice. My one complaint is that the breakfast is wildly overpriced. Twelve euros for what other hotels charge 8 euros. But the low price of the rooms perhaps makes it all come out right.

My wife and I stayed here on the 19 May . The hotel is in an excellent position right in the old town with the main sites only a short walk away. Disappointingly having arrived on a very wet Sunday evening after a 5 hr drive we decided to have a drink at the bar before going out for dinner only to be told that the bar was closed as there was only one person on duty that night. However the rooms were clean and well appointed and the breakfast very good. I recommend this hotel as offering good value for money, location and the parking facility .
