some nice little stands selling touristy stuff (soap, candy, regional stuff), and a great little carnival type setup at the fountain end if you have children.

Thank Dan P

Aix-en-Provence is a lovely city, second only to Paris in its urban beauty. The Cour Mirabeau is its Champs-Élysées, and friendlier than its Parisienne version. The north side has restaurants, cafes, ice-cream shops, pharmacies, etc. The south side has many banks and the Renoir cinema. There are frequent fairs and festivals, and of course Noël decorations. At the top of the boulevard is a statue to "good King Rene" with a cluster of grapes in his hand. At the bottom, is the Place du General DeGaulle and the famous fountain of lions.

The beautiful main street of Aix-en-Provence with its lovely cafes, its double row of Platanes trees and beautiful fountains is a must to every visitor.

Nice boulevard in the lovely Aix to see and to be seen. Impressive houses and fountains. good starting point to discover Vieil Aix. It has various opportunities for dining and ahopping, however, we preferred the opportunities in the side streets.

The Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence is the end of the rainbow in a beautiful city of 100 fountains. The place where Cezanne and Zola discussed the day, site of quaint and not so quaint sidewalk cafes offer everything, the market with goods from France ending in yet another awesome fountain of Europe. A fitting end to a city well worth the trip up from Marseilles.
