“Nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2009

This hotel is close to the train station. I think that it was only a 10 minute cab ride away. The downside to its location is that you are outside of the city center. There is a bus stop close by and you can hop on and be in the middle of town in 20 minutes.

As for the hotel, it is brand new and very nice. Our room was clean, spacious and had a really comfy bed! They cleaned our room each morning. I have nothing bad to say about the place. the staff was friendly and the restaurant served nice food but a little pricey for budget travellers.

With that being said, I would stay there again.

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and really could not fault it in any way. It was clean and tidy and as it was new everything was in good order. We did not eat in the restaurant or take breakfast so could not comment on this but the bar was relaxed. The staff were excellent and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

If I had to be critical of the hotel it is a little in the middle of no where so i would have thought you need a car (although we did not look at where public transport goes from) as we had the car, but there is a chemist and 2 banks nearby and what looked to be a bistro type restaurant although again we did not try this. The car parking was free and plentiful and very safe as was the surrounding area which appeared to be an up and coming development of fairly luxury flats etc. with offices for international companies.

One tip if you do drive here the road and postcode are not in any Sat Nav, but if you ring the hotel or look on Mulitmap you can find the nearest road and it is easy from there.

Going by the posted opening date, this hotel is about 6 months old. Not sure if this is the case though, so don't hold me to it if they opened a couple of months later!
The hotel looked brand new inside. Rooms, bar, gym facilities and the outside jacuzzi all looked like they were just out the wrapper. Everything was spotless so no issue about the cleanliness anywhere we went in the hotel.
Spare towels are available in the fitness area, so you don't use up your ones from the room when in the jacuzzi or sauna.
I got 2 rooms for 2 nights and luckily they were not at full price. I would say the price i paid, 79 Euros per room per night was spot on. This is not a 5 star luxury hotel in the middle of Aix that could command the room price of double what i paid (which is their normal room rate). I left feeling very happy that i got value for money on that room price i paid.
The bar is well stocked but as there were only really a coach load of tourists staying there it never really got much of an atmosphere. The way it is laid out i don't think it ever would.
Breakfast was a bit of a disaster though. The setup for breakfast is in a small corner of the bar/restaurant area and as the coach load were down before us it was very evident that the one girl on duty could never hope to keep suck a small buffet area topped up for the amount of people arriving. If the hotel was full then i reckon the queue to complain would be about as long as the queue to get a coffee. On the day we left it is clearly marked that breakfast starts at 7, but was not started until 7:30 and we had to be on the road for 8 at the latest. That was a big let down (but luckily for us the coach party were not down for the same hour as us or we would have just turned away).
We ate there 1 night. Bit pricey but well prepared and presented meals. Only the price stopped us doing it for the second night.

Rooms were like new. Comfy big bed and new flat screen to watch tv. Bathrom was good and bright inside.

I would stay there again but only if the price remained low. Would chose to eat out though unless i was really tired but that is only through price, not quality.
