“Unforgettable Hospitality”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

My husband and I loved our stay in Aix, and we can't wait to return. The owner, Claire, was wonderful to us; she helped us book a last-minute trip to Paris via the TGV, and treated us very well during our entire stay. The hotel was warm and cozy, and even though our room was on the street side, it wasn't that noisy. I actually enjoyed waking up to the sights and sounds of people going to work and kids going off to school. The breakfasts were fantastic with fresh croissants and coffee. And Claire and her staff never made us feel uncomfortable when we tried to speak French with them:)

The hotel is in a central area of Aix, so one can walk to shops, restaurants, and historic sites, and the public transportation is a great bonus.

We won't forget our time in Aix and at the Hotel Concorde!

Chers Clients,

Bien Cordialement

The staff was helpful + we arrived @ noon with friends from the nearby area who had driven us here + so the room was NOT ready + they allowed our friend to park in parking lot for free while we ate lunch 'til 2pm. Very nice! The room was #33 in courtyard + it was basic, but we were not in AIX to stay in our room, but to sight see. VERY NICE + CONVENIENT LOCATION W/ MANY TERRIFIC RESTAURANTS ONLY A FEW BLOCKS AWAY PLUS COURS MIRABEAU AND NICE INEXPENSIVE "UTILE" GROCERY STORE RIGHT NEXT DOOR We loved staying in this quiet room in the courtyard. All the staff were courteous + helpful including the new very nice VITO from Italy who speaks 4 languages at least :<).

Room Tip: I would definitely stay here again for the VALUE + TERRIFIC LOCATION. Get a courtyard view room if...

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights last week. Having booked from England I had requested to rooms next door to each other or interconnecting as we have 3 children in one room and myself and husband in another. When we arrived one room was inside the hotel the other was in the courtyard! I explained I would not be leaving my children to sleep alone outside and they said I had to upgrade and pay extra of 8 euros a day, which we did as we had no9 choice. the rooms were both in the courtyard but one was right up the other end so you can image was very worrying at night . On the second day when my daughter went to return the key to reception before we headed out the lady behind the desk told her that her room was too messy and she had nearly killed the cleaner!! Very unprofessional indeed. The room was not dirty or messy it was in a normal state of a room of 3 kids sharing. On the 3 day the reception called my husband and informed him that he had to pay an extra 15 euros to the cleaner as she had worked so hard!!! I think some new staff are needed! My husband told them no way her job was to clean and the room is not messy. "Ok" they said we wont charge you??!! We also had to pay 10 euros a day to park in the car park ( the only option there is ) and they make you pay your bill in the evening when returning from a night out before giving you your key so that you do not do a runner! why not on arrival? That's not what you want to deal with after a night out. Apparently this hotel has been taken over a few months ago the staff told us and they are awful at running it and hide behind their staff..... All I can say is stay away from this place!!

Room Tip: Too noisy every morning!

Le Concorde is located in a good spot in central Aix. It is just a few steps from the main streets and squares. The management at the hotel are very nice and helpful. There is an underground garage at the hotel (for a charge) and this is a big advantage.

The room we had overlooking the courtyard was reasonable size but the shower room/toilet was very small. The breakfast at Euro 10 is adequate and it is convenient to have it there.

Sightseeing of Aix can easily b e done by walking and there are many restaurants for eating at lunchtime or evening. The hotel can suggest restaurants.

All in all, we would use the hotel again because of it's situation.

Room Tip: Choose a Comfort Room overlooking the courtyard - Room 16

We booked a room at le Concorde for the Sunday - a courtyard view basic room - but we ended up coming to Aix the day before we planned so we turned up and asked if there were any rooms. They only had the "superior" room available and we decided to take it to save moving around the next day. We were really surprised to see what counted as a "superior room". Granted, it did have a balcony (though with a smashed barrier between ours and our neighbours, oh - and the exterior blind had been broken since April so we couldn't open and close it) and it did have the bathroom and toilet in the front, separated from the room by an internal door thereby providing extra noise protection - except from the sounds of our amorous neighbours and their bed banging against the carpeted wall all night. Yes, the carpeted wall and floor were quite hideous. The light fixtures worked but were broken - hanging upside down without shades. And it was dirty. Dusty, and finger prints and smears on the walls and doors. And the shower was broken - but I fixed it. And it just smelled really bad in the room. And the "free WiFi" was terrible and annoying - it uses a portal and they changed the username and password without telling us. Then they moved us to the basic room. It didn't have a balcony, though it had a window that opened up on to the external hall way. And the bathroom was at the back. The room may have been a bit smaller but we actually liked it better - especially the fact that the walls were just a dingy, dirty stucco rather than smelly carpet. Though this room too didn't smell very good. The bathroom lighting was absolutely dismal. Maybe one 40 watt bulb? that kind of brightness/dimness! The other difference betwen the superior and the basic room was the toiletries they offer: cheaper packets in the basic room. Neither toilet had a garbage can (though there was one in the bathroom). Our basic room had a better bed - two twins pushed together rather than a double bed - though both beds were very hard and the pillows uncomfortable. The a/c was good, and the location is great - really close to all the action and next door to a grocery store. We liked that it had a refrigerator and some patio tables (though only one with an umbrella) so we could eat there.

This is a very nice hotel close to the centre of the town, Cours Mirabeau, the main shopping boulevard and restaurants etc. rooms are located via a courtyard and some have verandas, and there are areas to sit outside.
Rooms are clean and spacious with air conditioning and mini bar and safe. Very helpful staff, particularly the proprietor Claire and Marjorie, who all speak very good English.
There is a supermarket next door for convenience. We stayed during the International Music Festival and the cost was reasonable.

Cher client,

Bien cordialement.

This accommodation is a two-star,located,a hop away from provedors, cafes and the ambiance of central Aix. It is five minute walk from the famous Cours Mirabeau .
The rooms are generous with large bathroom. Those facing the street are noisy, so ask for the ones at the back of the hotel with a lovely terrace with roof- top views, uninterrupted, to the hills in the distance.
There is a garage, lifts and book exchange in the parlor which is well stocked with flyers and books The staff are absolute magic.Helped with info, attractions and even spending hours, finding and booking our next adventure in Avignon. Couldn't be better.
Skip breakfast, even though the toast smelled tantalizing. There are fab eateries and cafes so close at hand. If you like preparing food yourself....there is a deli, charcuterie, cheese shop and fabulous artisan bread outlets within a minute walk..........in fact ,the butcher shop has fresh cooked options if you prefer to dine in. There is an organic health food store where you can get proper cereal. You are 10 minutes walk from rail and bus stations. The local bus stops at the hotel door. This hotel suits families, couples or singles First class on all counts

Room Tip: Back rooms facing the hills
