What a fabulous hotel in the lee of the Sainte Victoire hills (I think they might be mountains, but they're not very high!). Some ground floor rooms have shuttered French doors onto private patio areas (ask for room 2, it was superb). Others do not and the decor is a little tired (room 1). The multi-lingual staff were attentive and courteous. The restaurant was superb. Although this was a business trip, this is definitely on the list for either romantic couples or families visiting the beautiful region.

A little out of the way, if you need a taxi fast, you need to relax a little more, enjoy a coffee and the morning sun - it'll take a little while for one to arrive. If you don't it is wonderfully positioned with great views from the reception patio. If you are on the wrong side of the hotel, there is some traffic noise during rush hour - but it doesn't last long.

Room Tip: Room 2 is large, with private patio (hedges around a tiled area with furniture to enjoy the sun), an...

This hotel is a remodeled farmhouse that is now updated and part of a French chain. Our overall assessment is that this facility needs more experienced and enthusiastic staff to live up to the potential offered by its wonderful location and on-site Michelin-rated terrace restaurant. While we stayed here at the beginning of a wonderful trip and enjoyed our stay, we would have to say that this hotel fell short compared to the rest of our modest and family-oriented accommodations in Provence & Catalunya.
The rooms are clean and well-appointed; the private terrace outside is a charming amenity, although we didn't know about it and therefore, didn't have a plan to make use of it (would have been perfect for drinks before dinner or for b'fast)! The pool is absolutely lovely, but it requires professional maintenance (water filtration & plumbing were dubious).
The outdoor terrace restaurant is beautiful - we learned that it had earned a Michelin star and so we decided to have dinner there rather than drive back to Aix. The restaurant was understaffed and somewhat expensive - my husband's duck was excellent, but my pasta with mushrooms was undistinguished and a bit cold. The biggest problem with the restaurant was the amateurish and unresponsive service - inexperienced servers who are ill-suited to a Michelin-rated restaurant. Based on our dinner experience, we decided to skip the indoor breakfast buffet (the dining area looked lovely), as it too seemed expensive and we would have preferred a simpler Continental b'fast.
This hotel has such huge potential: IMO, the Mercure organization should invest in pool maintenance and work with their staff to earn a place in the mid-range traveler market.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the garden side, not facing the road.

We have just recently spent several days at this hotel.
A very attractive, old building which is pleasantly cool. Unfortunately next to the main road so rather noisy in the morning with work traffic. Our room was large and very comfortable with a generous bathroom & walk in shower.
We did find breakfast rather expensive for the choice of food available. If you arrived after 9am then eggs & bacon where no longer on the menu.
The view of the bins while dining outside on the terrace was dissapointing and the pool although very welcome needs repairing in several places.
The staff were always very helpful but seemed to be running the hotel on their own.

Our family of four was very comfortable in this hotel. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. When we decided we only wanted to stay one night instead of two they let us change our plans without any penalty. Rooms were very comfortable and air conditioning worked great.. This hotel is a little out of the way for Aix, but all is all we were very pleased with this choice.
