We were staying at the Aquabella Hotel in Aix for three nights prior to joing our Uniworld river cruise out of Arles. Our first time in this beautiful and enchanting city will be forever and positively etched in our memories largely due to our two outstanding meals my wife and I had in the Piazza Papa. The first time we dined was for lunch after our wonderful adventure experiencing the wonders of the shoppin on the Cours Mirabeau. As it turns out our very charming and helpful waitress was a young American woman studying at the local university. Our lunch was consisted of a delicious local Provence-style salad and some very nice local wine. We had such a good meal and a great time watching the many locals (and tourists) on the promenade in front of the dining patio, that we returned the next night for an early dinner. They have a wonderful selection, the food was fresh and delicious, and the service was exceptional. The only thing better was the perfect and uniquely European ambiance of dining on the promenade in nice weather!!
