Perfect Location. Walk out the door and you are in the old town, near the local markets, stores, and restaurants. Quiet. Rooms are impeccably clean and modern. Breakfast is at a group table and we met wonderful people. Food was great. Place was conducive to a slow place. Rented a car and they took care of it. Victor was a spectacular host. Would return definitely. Also loved Aix.

Room Tip: Only four rooms on this hotel/guest house. Can't find a bad room or place. No noise anywhere.

Went with my wife and found this lovely place to stay. Many claim they try to make you feel at home but here you really do. They are so keen to help you. You can fully rely on their tips especially for what restaurant are concerned. Maison d'Aix is obviously well connected locally...
Great room and very quiet for being in the city center. Fantastic breakfast. Will return !

Room Tip: All rooms are nice. We toured the hotel with the owner.

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay here in mid-May 2014 for two nights. We loved the old style ambience of this hotel. Great location in the middle of Aix. Fabulous stay if you like hotels that aren't cookie cutter chains and appreciate historical buildings of yesteryear.

Room Tip: We stayed here in Mid-May and I can't report on heating/air since we didn't really need eith...

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Maison d'Aix. The room was beautiful and cleaned 2x a day. The breakfast was delicious, and recommendations for dinners and day activities were spot on. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

We’ve been through a two weeks trip in south of France and we satyed for the second time at La Maison d’Aix with our friends.
This hotel is amazing and is a truly exceptional place to stay. There is so much care and detail put into every feature. We really had a fantastic stay thanks to our host, Carine and Victor. They have been attentive and so helpfull. Brilliant. Thank you again. We also met the architect Laura wh explained us all the history of the Maison d’Aix. The hotel has the best location, just in the middle of the town, 2 minutes walk from the Cours Mirabau. It worth every penny. I would def stay again.hol Loved it!

Room Tip: Henriette should be requiered and have a coupe of Champagne in the Salon Rouge.

Let me preface this review by saying that I love hotels and am always looking for the next great place. My previous #1 was George V in Paris, but the Maison d'Aix has now taken its place.

Everything about our stay was perfect. We were welcomed into the house (which looks like how I would dream my house to be if it was expertly decorated and perfectly maintained) by the manager and immediately upgraded to the love suite. The house is cute, interesting and hard to leave. The room was spotless, beautiful and included top of the line everything....products, bedding, shuttered flower boxed windows and a balcony.

The morning breakfasts are extremely fresh and served with care in a beautiful plant lined dining room.

The location is walkable to all restaurants and attractions.

If we find ourselves in Aix again, we will definitely return to the best hotel ever!!

We had a wonderful experience staying at La Maison d'Aix. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Karin, who oriented us to the Maison d'Aix and helped bring the luggage up to our room. She then graciously jumped into the car to guide me to the parking garage, which was very close by. Having previously helped to arrange dinner reservations, she had a map ready for us that clearly marked where the restaurants were located. The following morning, we were treated to an outstanding breakfast that included fresh croissants, fruit, juice, and coffee. Karin was off duty for the latter part of our stay, but Victor took over. Victor was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and accommodating. It was a lot of fun chatting with him, and his fruit salad was awesome!

The location on quiet side street was great. A short walk to the main street, Cours Mirabeau, and just beyond that the wonderfully quaint and picturesque old city that was filled with interesting shops, restaurants, fountains, and plazas. We discovered a beautiful and peaceful garden at the Pavillon de Vendome, and had a great lunch outdoors at L'Archeveche Cafe near the cathedral and tapistry museum. Although the views were nice, the Atelier Cezanne was a disappoinment and the hike up the hill past a large construction project was probably not worth it. (Another guest enjoyed the Cezanne Walking Tour, which interestingly did not include the trip up to the Atelier.

One of the highlights of our stay was a trip down to Cassis - a quaint old port village that was about a 40 minute drive from La Maison. Highly recommend the 90 minute boat ride that took us to multiple calanques, which are breathtakingly scenic coves amongst the very high rocky cliffs. They run shorter boat rides that show fewer of the calanques, but the 90 minutes flew by and we were really glad that we decided on the longer option. One tip: to get good seats on the boat, make sure you get on board well before the scheduled departure time.

We loved our stay and would definitely return to La Maison d'Aix. Be aware that there is no elevator, and if you go, make sure that you have them reserve a parking spot for you in the garage. There is some street parking, but it is quite limited and more expensive than the parking garage deal.
